Roger Corman, a pioneering film director who was behind the 1960 horror comedy The Little Shop of Horrors, has died aged 98.

The Hollywood legend died on Thursday at his home in Santa Monica, California, a statement from his wife and daughters sent to Associated Press read.

‘He was generous, open-hearted and kind to all those who knew him,’ they said.

‘When asked how he would like to be remembered, he said, “I was a filmmaker, just that.”‘
