Rob Rinder fans have shared messages of condolence with the star after he announced the death of his ‘beloved’ grandma aged 96.

In a post shared on Instagram, the Good Morning Britain presenter described the ‘fierce love’ that his Grandma Frances gave to him and the rest of his family.

Sharing a series of pictures of her, the 45-year-old wrote in his caption: ‘My beloved Grandma Frances passed away yesterday at 96.

‘She adored me, her grandchildren & great grandchildren with FIERCE love. What a limitless gift it is to have had her in my life. Hold those who love you truly & unconditionally close to you.’

Rob concluded his message by expressing his gratitude to the charity Jewish Care, writing: ‘And thank you @jewish_care.’

Stars including Ruth Langsford and Angela Scanlon shared their support for Rob in the comments, with the former writing in a heartfelt comment: ‘So sorry for your loss Rob. How wonderful to have had her, and all that love, in your life for so long.

‘Sending love and condolences to you and your family.’

Strictly star Angela added: ‘Sending you so much love xx.’

An Instagram user called Mary commented: ‘Very sorry for your loss. You always express how much family means to you.’

Several people also wished Rob ‘a long life’, a phrase that’s commonly said to people in the Jewish community who are mourning the loss of a loved one.

The first photo that Rob shared of his grandmother showed her sitting at an event wearing a glamorous black ensemble with a red poppy pinned to the front.

The next image showed her at a younger age in a black and white photograph, standing alongside two men.

Rob also shared a picture of himself holding his grandma’s hand, with the last photo showing them beaming at the camera in a joyful selfie taken while lying in bed.

In 2021, the TV presenter suffered the loss of his Grandma Lottie at the age of 97.

He paid tribute to her during an appearance on Loose Women, saying at the time: ‘I had unconditional love in absolute bucketfuls and belief. Women who were proud of my achievements but above all thought that it mattered most that I was kind – and they taught me how to hear and to listen.

‘The centre of that was my grandma who died at the weekend. She was 97. So she was the kind of spiritual and emotional epicentre of our family.’

He added: ‘To think she’s not with us leaves us empty but to have had her fills us with joy.’
