Fans were left devastated last month when K-pop star Park Bo-Ram died suddenly aged 30 and now a cause of death has been revealed.

Bo-Ram was found unconscious at a friends’ home on April 11 with her agency Xanadu Entertainment statement saying the singer ‘suddenly left us’.

Her death tragically came days after she had released a brand new single, poignantly titled I Miss You.

The Namyang Police Department ordered an autopsy, which reportedly revealed her cause of death was due to acute alcohol poisoning.

It’s believed the K-pop star had pre-existing medical conditions which impacted her liver functions and could have contributed.

The autopsy from the National Forensic Service stated that at her time of death Bo-Ram was suffering from fatty liver disease and liver lesions.

Last month when the news broke, her agency sent a statement to AllKPop, stating: ‘Our hearts are deeply troubled as we deliver this sudden news to her fans

‘A wake and funeral proceedings will be scheduled after a discussion with the singer’s family.’

The wake was held on April 17 at the Asan Medical Center before a funeral procession with family and friends, including those in the industry, in attendance.

Bo-Ram rose to fame aged just 16 on a South Korean talent competition in 2010, finishing in eighth place on SuperStar K2.

She later signed to an agent and recorded the soundtrack for Always for TV series 49 days.

In 2014, the singer won an Artist of the Year honour with the single Beautiful featuring rapper Zico.

The following year, she released her first album, Celepretty, which included hit Beautiful.

As well as I Miss You, Bo-Ram unveiled I Hope with fellow SuperStar K2 artist Huh Gak, nicknamed the Paul Potts of South Korea.

She was preparing to release a full studio album, in honour of the 10th anniversary of her debut album.
