Comments made by Eamonn Holmes about his bedroom antics – or lack thereof with Ruth Langsford have surfaced in the wake of their divorce announcement.
The TV power couple, both 64, confirmed at the weekend that, after 14 years of marriage, they were parting ways.
While their split is believed to be ‘amicable’ to the public, sources have claimed their careers played a part, taking them in different directions.
As speculation bubbles on, since neither party has explicitly commented on the split yet, insiders have claimed that Eamonn is ‘furious’ about the break-up and that it has ‘very much been orchestrated by Ruth’.
The Mail on Sunday has revealed that the statement issued by spokespeople on Saturday was not a joint effort, claiming it was arranged by Loose Women star Ruth.
Eamonn apparently ‘refused to get involved’ because ‘Ruth can do what she wants, but keep me out of it’.

It’s also been claimed he made a crude quip to pals about their sex life.
Eamonn supposedly joked to friends that he has been ‘touched’ far more by his physiotherapist than Ruth in recent years.
The GB News presenter has been receiving physio since suffering from agonising back problems caused by slipped discs and a dislocated pelvis, which left him struggling to move without crutches or a walking stick.
A source added: ‘Ruth is on his case, telling him he should be up walking but he isn’t putting it on.
‘He is in a lot of pain, all of the time. It isn’t that easy for him.’
Additionally, it’s believed the couple have been living separate lives for a while, well before making news of their divorce public.
The former This Morning presenters – who have a son, Jack, born in 2002 – are said to have spent ‘months trying to save their marriage’.
Alas, Ruth was ‘determined to walk away.’

Both Eamonn and Ruth have denied that there were any problems with their relationship when asked in recent months, although those close to the exes reckon the marriage was over for a year at least.
‘The couple have remained living under the same roof but sleeping in separate rooms – with Ruth increasingly acting more like a carer than a wife.
‘She runs around making his lunch for him despite their fraught relationship.
‘Meanwhile, he sits uncomfortably in a chair, limited in his mobility by chronic back pain which has left him in need of at times daily physiotherapy sessions.’
One source, who knows Irish TV personality Eamonn, also claimed he would become ‘very angry’ when quizzed on his marriage as he was ‘struggling to accept’ what was going on.’
Eamonn and Ruth have become key faces on British TV in the past decade.
They began presenting ITV daytime programme This Morning together in 2006, before leaving the programme in 2021 and being replaced by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond.

In the 2018 New Year Honours, Eamonn then became an OBE for services to broadcasting and was congratulated by Ruth, who called him her ‘darling’.
Eamonn, who has also fronted coverage on GMTV and Sky News’ Sunrise, launched Breakfast With Eamonn And Isabel on GB News in January 2022.
As for Ruth, she has been a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, where she was partnered with Anton Du Beke before he became a judge on the BBC show.
She also regularly presents Loose Women, having begun on the show in the 1990s.
Reps for Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford have been contacted for comment.
