Hallmark actress Mamie Laverock is fighting for her life after falling from a fifth-floor balcony.

The 19-year-old, most known for her role in When Calls The Heart, was initially rushed to hospital with a medical emergency, with her mother Nicole by her side.

While receiving treatment in Vancouver, her loved ones revealed that she was ‘escorted out of a secure unit’ and taken to a balcony walkway on Sunday, where she ‘fell five stories’.

They had set up a GoFundMe page to help with her care earlier this month – with more than $12,000 CAD raised at the time of writing.

In a heartbreaking update, her family have since explained that the teenager is currently on life support following an incident over the weekend.

‘On Saturday May 11th, Nicole traveled to Winnipeg to help Mamie, who was having a medical emergency,’ the post began. ‘Nicole was able to get there in time to save her life. Then got her to a hospital in Winnipeg.

‘Mamie has since been transferred to Hospital here in Vancouver. Her recovery is unclear at this time but she is alive and is showing signs of improvement.

‘We are trying to go every day to support her. Any contributions would help us be by her side. But this could be upwards of a month or more.

‘We will share all the updates we can. Thank you for all your well wishes.’

In a recent update, they added: ‘We are deeply saddened to report that on May 26th, Mamie, who has been in intensive treatment for the past two weeks, was escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories.

‘She sustained life threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support.

‘We are all devastated, in shock, at this intensely difficult time.’

Mamie’s family have been flooded with more than 180 donations so far, and messages of support from fans.

In a comments section on the fundraiser, Megan Verchere wrote: ‘Sending Mamie and all of you our love and strength.’

Enrico Esteban penned: ‘Stay strong and take care, Mamie!’

‘Hello, I just wanted to let you know that I’m praying for Mamie here in the USA! May God spare her life so that she can finish what God has for her to do,’ Terry Duncan added.

Mamie’s When Calls The Heart co-star, Erin Krakow, posted a link to the fundraiser on Instagram, pleading with fans to help.

‘I just donated. If you have the means to do so, I hope you will too,’ she wrote beside a screenshot of the page.

Johannah Newmarch, who plays Molly Sullivan, reached out to her Twitter followers with the same plea.

‘I love this family, my heart is broken,’ she added. ‘A devastating time for all who care for Mamie. Please help if you can.

‘They need all the support they can get to make it through this #hearties.’

Mamie has become a staple of the Hallmark channel over the last few years, thanks to her role as Rosaleen Sullivan on the first two seasons of When Calls The Heart, which first aired on the network in 2014.

She went on to return to the role in season 10, which hit our screens last year.

As well as this, she has appeared in a string of other projects, including This Means War – starring Reese Witherspoon, Tom Hardy and Chris Pine – and a Series of Unfortunate Events.
