Warning: spoilers ahead for Bridgerton season 3 part 1.
The Bridgerton season 3 part 2 trailer has dropped… and fans are living for the steamy new look at Netflix’s most elegant period drama.
After the part 1 finale – complete with that raunchy carriage scene – the next batch of episodes will continue to follow the journey of Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after their friendship finally turned into something more.
However, one detail in the new trailer, which pertains to a certain Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), has been described as ‘unbearable’ as fans rushed to share their thoughts.
In the new scenes, in one moment, Benedict is seen sitting on bed with his new lover, Lady Tilley Arnold (Hannah New) as they read a Lady Whistledown pamphlet together.
Later on, the second-eldest Bridgerton brother is seen once again with an expression of shock on his face while a mystery woman is positioned with her back to the camera.

This blink-and-you-miss-it moment prompted some Bridgerton fans to immediately assume that this unknown woman could in fact be Sophie, Benedict’s love interest from the books who viewers will likely get to meet when his season comes around.
‘Is that Sophie?’ Reddit user u/talon1245 asked, while another called u/OwnPea1205 put forward the same question urgently in all caps.
User u/goldenfeder added: ‘I literally rushed here to say this – THIS SHOT plus the clock striking midnight in the trailer???? I feel like we’re getting hints for Benedict’s story.’
U/Elfie_B admitted that they found the speculation ‘unbearable’ after the trailer featured the very teasy shot.
Fans questioned if this could be Sophie, Benedict’s future love interest (Picture: Netflix/YouTube)
However, it was likely still Tilly, just seen from a different angle (Picture: Netflix/YouTube)
‘I can’t believe they’re teasing with that image… the outrage/excitement that’ll follow in the next two weeks is going to be unbearable,’ they said.
Despite the guesswork that Sophie could be introduced in the second half of the third season, other fans pointed out that it’s likely just the back of Tilly’s head… especially considering moments later, the newcomer is seen on the screen with a mystery man, played by actor Lucas Aurelio.
One fan called u/EvolutionaryBeing suspected there could be a ‘ménage à trois dynamic’ in part two between the pair and Benedict – all of these theories remain to be seen!
Elsewhere in the trailer, Penelope and Colin announce to society – and their families – that they are engaged after years of being close friends.
Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) continues to pressure her former friend Penelope to reveal that she is in fact Lady Whistledown, despite the repercussions this revelation would bring.

There is also conflict in Penelope and Colin’s relationship, as Penelope says to her fiancé: ‘Colin, I can take care of myself,’ to which he replies, sounding extremely upset: ‘Then what good am I to you?!’
Kate Bridgerton (Simone Ashley) and Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) are seen gazing at one another with eyes full of love at a high society event, while Lady Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell) is seemingly swept off her feet on the dancefloor by Lady Danbury’s brother, Marcus (Daniel Francis).
Penelope is given a warning by her mother Portia Featherington (Polly Walker) about what she can expect from married life, as she’s told: ‘Your duty is to cater to Mr Bridgerton’s dreams.’
‘What about my dreams?’ she asks, to which her mother responds: ‘Ladies do not have dreams. They have husbands.’
There’s now less than two weeks to wait until the new episodes drop… but our patience is waning!
Bridgerton season 3 part 2 premieres on Netflix on Thursday June 13.
