Carol Vorderman was seen making a bold gesture following her latest appearance on Have I Got New For You.

The former Countdown star finished filming for the panel show on Thursday night (June 5), with regulars Paul Merton and Ian Hislop sitting alongside Jack Dee and Alex Horne.

It marked the final episode in the BBC show’s current series, as well as its 600th overall.

While leaving for the night, Carol bumped into Eddie Izzard, who was performing at the same studio in Hamlet.

Originally, it was reported that Carol and Eddie had a heated exchange of words in the bar for around 15 minutes.

At one point, Carol stuck up her middle finger before walking off, a packet of crisps in hand, jumping into her waiting taxi to head home.

However, she appeared to be flipping off photographers, not Eddie.

Keen as ever to quash speculation, Carol then took to Instagram the next morning.

In a series of photos, she posed backstage, showcasing her curves in stylish attire.

The TV icon wore a tan leather dress with a neutral shawl over her shoulders, her blonde locks styled in bouncy curls and her eyes darkened by her signature eyeliner.

In her caption, she praised her co-stars and made a self-deprecating dig about being on her best behaviour.

Famously outspoken when it comes to politics and her grievances with the Conservative Party, she wrote: ‘Such a laugh’, adding: ‘I “think” I behaved …. enough !!!’

Referring to her outfit, she joked: ‘One day I’ll “grow up” and buy things “more appropriate for my age”……but not just yet 😉😉

‘Actually …. bol**cos to that, I’ll do what the hell I like 😂😂💪🏼👍🏼’

Addressing her rumoured feud with Eddie and putting any alleged animosity to bed, Carol concluded: ‘Ps was so happy to see our Eddie Izzard in the bar after . He’s performing in Hamlet in the same building Riverside Studios Hammersmith. Big hugs 🥰’

Carol has never been one to bite her tongue when it comes to expressing her opinions on topical matters.

She’s helmed Have I Got News For You many times in the past, jumping at the chance to sink her teeth into a political debate.

Most recently, Carol appeared on Joe Lycett’s Late Night Lycett where she unleashed a savage rant on the Tories, leading to her being branded ‘iconic’ by viewers.

When asked about her upcoming book, the presenter said passionately that she’s ‘not holding back’, adding that it’s a deep-dive into ‘all the Tory crap, they have taken from the already rich and they are giving to the rich.’

She then said: ‘I did a few numbers, earlier in the year they’d been in power for 5,000 days since David Cameron became PM in January… but I calculated how much they had added to the national debt every day for 5,000 days, and it was over £300million a day, for 5000 days, where’s all the money gone?

‘Because I tell you what, everything NHS, prisons, schools, water, rivers, even water in the taps in Devon, everything has turned to s**t.’

But that’s far from all, as Carol has also pledged to devote herself to ‘getting rid of as many Tories as possible’ in government.

If you’re expecting her to stand in the elections herself, though, think again.

‘No,’ Carol said firmly when asked by Grazia if she’d ever stand.

‘I definitely don’t want to be an MP. But I am loving being a channel for a million people who feel like they have no voice.

‘Politics has been corrupted since Boris Johnson was in power; […] MPs need to be held to account. Look for the pattern and follow the money!’
