Chris Brown was left suspended in the air during his recent concert while singing Under the Influence.

The Grammy-winner, 35, glided across the stage on wires at the Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey, for his 11:11 tour and was left stumped when the production tech seemingly stopped working.

Brown gestured multiple times to the backstage crew to help him out as he floated above the stage, looking frustrated, and a ladder was erected to help him clamber down to ground level.

While he continued singing over the top of the mishap, the R&B star didn’t look too happy as he unclipped himself from the wires, stepped backwards down the ladder and walked it off, as he appeared to shout at someone backstage with an angry point in their direction.

Viewers took to the comments section at the video pointing out how ‘mad’ Brown was at the stage blunder.

‘He was so mad he was singing tf out that song!’ wrote @304Shavon, as the video was also shared on TikTok by user @terrim89.

‘Just dangling like a Christmas ornament,’ commented @real1sco, while@RozyLove said: ‘I was at the show last night & he was in the air going from one stage to the next.

‘Two songs he was supposed to perform on the stage but got stuck mid air causing him to perform in the air longer than expected, he got upset because his crew took too long to get him down!’

According to reports, Brown said he was angry about the technical difficulties at the end of the two-hour concert but made light of the situation.

This isn’t the first time Brown’s short fuse has been the subject of headlines, as in 2009 he famously pleaded guilty to physically assaulting Rihanna, who was left hospitalised with injuries.

After completing domestic violence counselling, Brown posted to Twitter: ‘I have enough self respect and decency to be proud of accomplishing this DV class. Boyz run from [their] mistakes. Men learn from them!!!’

Following the very public domestic violence case, Brown was denied a visa to the UK, and so couldn’t perform.

The Home Office wrote in a statement: ‘We reserve the right to refuse entry to the UK to anyone guilty of a serious criminal offense. Public safety is one of our primary concerns. Each application to enter the UK is considered on its individual merits.’

In 2015, hours before he was due to perform in Toronto, Brown – who was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and bipolar disorder – confirmed he was denied entry based on his criminal history, and the same happened in Australia and New Zealand.

He was also accused of throwing a chair at a window in a 2011 backstage meltdown after being asked about abusing Rihanna by Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts.

In 2012, he was involved in a New York city nightclub brawl with Drake and a year later Brown and his bodyguard were arrested for felony assault after a ‘physical altercation’ with two men outside a hotel.

In June 2016, Michael Guirguis, who was hired by Brown to help save his image after he assaulted Rihanna, accused Brown of attacking him, and the matter was later settled in court.

He was also accused of rape by a women, which was alleged to have happened on Diddy’s yacht. The case was dropped in 2022 after text messages emerged in which the unnamed woman asked Brown to meet after the alleged rape.

In 2018, Brown was also hit with two criminal counts of having a restricted species – in his case, a capuchin monkey.
