Netflix viewers’ wishes have been answered after a hit series was uploaded to the streaming service last week.

Running on ITV from 2007 until 2011, Secret Diary of a Call Girl starred Billie Piper as Belle, a high-end call girl in London.

Written by Lucy Prebble (who went on to work on Succession and I Hate Suzie), it followed the life of Hannah Baxter (Billie), a young woman who lived a secret life as a call girl under the pseudonym of Belle.

Over four seasons the story focused on her professional and private lives, with other characters including her best friend and ex-boyfriend Ben (Iddo Goldberg) and fellow escort Gloria ‘Bambi’ White (Ashley Madekwe), who ends up being mentored by Belle.

The series also starred Lily James, Gemma Chan and Paul Nicholls.

It’s now been 13 years since it last aired, however fans were ecstatic when discovering it had been released on Netflix this week.

Earlier this year Billie, 41, admitted she swiped some items off the set of the series she’d worked on over the years.

During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show the actress, who also starred in Doctor Who as Rose Tyler between 2005 and 2006, made the confession.

‘I take things from set, I see things, I take them,’ Billie admitted.

She went on: ‘Loads of things, rings, costume jewellery, I actually have a whip and some underwear from The Secret Diary of a Call Girl.’

Talking about taking things from the Tardis, she added: ‘I took loads of stuff from the Tardis, the main central console.’

Before turning to acting, which saw Billie earn a Bafta nomination in 2021 and 2023 for her starring role in I Hate Suzie, she rose to fame with her debut single as a teenager.

Secret Diary of a Call Girl is streaming on Netflix.
