‘UFC Were Not Happy with his Last Fight’- Israel Adesanya’s Coach Eugene Bareman Trashes Marvin Vettori’s Performance Against Kevin Holland

Israel Adesanya’s coach Eugene Bareman sat down with Submission Radio and went over Adesanya’s upcoming opponent for UFC 263. ‘The Last Stylebender’ faces Marvin Vettori in a highly anticipated rematch in the main event for the card. The first fight ended via split decision in favor of Adesanya and both men believe they have what it takes to improve on the outcome.

Marvin Vettori has stayed busy since that loss to Adesanya and rattled off five-straight win on his way to a title show. Unanimous decision wins over Jack Hermansson and most recently Kevin Holland sealed the deal for a shot. However, Bareman had his own takeaway from Vettori’s most recent scrap that took place in April.

Israel Adesanya’s coach pulls back the curtain

Eugene Bareman revealed that the UFC wasn’t too pleased with the way Vettori defeated Kevin Holland in their contest. The City Kickboxing coach explained that his grappling heavy style wasn’t what the organization was looking for. What’s more, Bareman went out of his way to say that the bout was more or less a gift given by the undisputed champion.

“Israel wanted to fight. We were obviously hoping to fight Robert, we were wishfully thinking that maybe Robert will be willing to do a quick turnaround…But I knew it was going to be Vettori. This fight [at UFC 263] is because of Israel, not because of Marvin, Marvin getting himself in a certain position. His last fight, I know the people in charge, the people that push the buttons in the UFC were not happy with his last fight.”

“That’s just how the UFC is, they don’t want to see someone lay around and hug someone. They want to advance people that excite them and Marvin didn’t do that. Nevertheless, another person just like Romero because of the good grace of Israel gets the pink panty night.”

Marvin Vettori will undoubtedly have something to say in response to coach Bareman’s assessment of his fight. What was already set to be a fiery rematch will more likely than not ramp up in terms of intensity. Moreover, ‘The Italian Dream’ will probably come in with a chip on his shoulder and look for the finish.
