‘So beautiful’ fashion fan raves about dress she ‘can’t believe is from Asda’ – and it’s perfect for the heatwave
IT can be so difficult to stay cool and look stylish at the same time.
But one fashion fan reckons she’s found the perfect ensemble to do just that – and she “can’t believe” it’s from Asda.

She admitted she “couldn’t believe” it was from the supermarket, noting that it’s “such good quality” tooTikTok/@catrinahogg
It’s got gorgeous puff sleeves, and is made of 100 per cent cotton so is perfect for keeping cool in the heatTikTok/@catrinahogg
Catrina took to TikTok to film a video of her trip round the supermarket’s fashion section, as she offered her thoughts on their latest offerings.
But it was a £35 white maxi dress from the Asda Studio Edit that really caught Catrina’s eye.
And when she got home and filmed her try on haul for TikTok, she insisted the white dress needed its own video.
“It’s absolutely amazing,” she gushed.
“I love it so much. I actually can’t believe this is from Asda. It’s such good quality!
“Look at the sleeves. It’s so beautiful.”
Catrina added that she felt as though she was from the Sound of Music in the dress, but also thought it would be perfect for a Western-themed party she was going to this weekend.
“I love it so much!” she added.
“You know the drill.
“You need to run, not walk to Asda because this is going to go quick.
“How insane is this dress?
“I am obsessed.”
People were also quick to comment on the dress, with one writing: “You look gorge!”
“Oh it’s stunning!” another gushed.
“It’s beautiful,” a third commented.
The dress is also made from 100 per cent cotton, so is perfect to wear to stay cool in warm weather.
And the positive reviews kept on coming on the George website too.
“This dress is so lovely and looks a lot more expensive,” one wrote.
“Definitely a timeless summer dress…true to size and lots of volume!”
“Love a cotton summer dress and this one ticked all the boxes for me,” another added.
Is supermarket fashion the new high street?
DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale weighs in:
The supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, as you head in to do your weekly food shop you can also pick up a selection of purse-friendly, stylish pieces for all the family.
Tesco has just announced a 0.7 per cent increase in the quarter thanks to a ‘strong growth in clothing’ and M&S has earnt the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street.
Asda’s clothing line George has made £1.5 million for the supermarket in 2023, 80 per cent of Sainsbury’s clothes sold at full price rather than discounted and Nutmeg at Morrisons sales are also up 2 per cent in the past year.
So what is it about supermarket fashion that is becoming so successful?
Apart from the clothing actually being affordable, it’s good quality too – with many being part of schemes such as the Better Cotton Initiative.
A lot of the time they keep to classic pieces that they know will last the customer year after year.
Plus because they buy so much stock they can turn around pieces quickly and buy for cheaper because of the volumes.
“The style, length, fit and especially the price.
“Looks more expensive than what the price point is and definitely not an Asda dress!”
While a third called it a “very special dress”, and added: “The fabric quality is excellent & it’s a beautiful dress.”
Other items that caught Catrina’s eye in Asda included a beach bag, but she was stunned when she realised it was £45.
