‘Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Larson and Chad Knaus’ – Bowman’s Words for his Team Members and Team Legend After Coca-Cola 600

Following the NASCAR Cup Series Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Kyle Larson triumphed. In light of his win, teammate Alex Bowman spoke about Larson’s influence on the outfit. He admitted that he was not sure if the Asian American driver was solely responsible for changing the team’s vibe.

Bowman said, “Obviously, Jimmie [Johnson] was a big part of what we were doing. Kyle is another race car driver, the four of us are somewhat quiet. We’re all pretty quiet for the most part, so Chad [Knaus] leads the meetings more than he ever has. That’s really the biggest vibe change, like the meetings that I see is being led strictly by Chad, instead of having him as crew chief.”

The #48 driver acknowledged that it has been a big change, but Larson has been a great addition to the team. This is because, he brings a huge load of experience of different race cars and his teammates enjoy having him on their side.

How have Kyle Larson, Alex Bowman and their teammates performed in 2021?

So far the Hendrick Motorsports quartet have performed exceptionally well. After Team Penske, they are the only team to have all their drivers pick up at least one win. However, it is worth noting that the season has been hugely unpredictable. To be precise, the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season boasts of 12 different winners. Only Martin Truex Jr, Alex Bowman and Kyle Larson can proudly say that they have more than one win.

The latest Hendrick Motorsports win also resulted in them overtaking Richard Petty Enterprises in all-time wins. Chase Elliott set the ball rolling when he won the first Cup Series race at COTA, tying with RP Enterprises. However, it was Kyle Larson who struck the final blow to allow Hendrick Motorsports to surge ahead. Considering that HMS has four drivers to RPM’s one, the former could increase their gap.
