The countdown to Strictly Come Dancing 2024 is officially underway, with three more contestants having been announced today.
Taking to the ballroom for the BBC competition this series, and hoping to follow in the footsteps of reigning champions Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola, are comedian Chris McCausland, who will be making history as the first blind contestant on the show, and JLS star JB Gill.
They’ll be joined by Olympian Tom Dean, Go Compare opera singer Wynne Evans, 80s singer and actress Toyah Willcox, and finally, TV star Dr Punam Krishan.
Rumours are still swirling over who else could be joining the line-up, including Hannah Waddingham and Nick Knowles, but here’s what we know about one of the latest celebrities to be confirmed.

Dr Punam Krishan is best known for her appearances on BBC’s Morning Live, where she serves as the resident doctor.
The Scottish GP, 41, is also a columnist for iNews and has written three books, How to Be a Doctor and Other Life-Saving Jobs, and children’s books You and Your Body, and A Superhero’s First Aid Manual.
Away from her broadcasting and media medic roles, Dr Krishan is mum to two children, who she shares with husband Sandesh Gulhane, a Scottish MP and the Scottish Conservative Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care.
Which TV shows has Dr Punam Krishan appeared on?
As well as making regular appearances on BBC Morning Live, Dr Punam first hit screens with BBC Scotland programme Laid Bare in 2019, which saw volunteer patients being interviewed by the broadcaster and medic.
She joined BBC Morning Live in 2020, and has also appeared on BBC Radio Scotland.

In 2022, Dr Punam starred on an episode of The Weakest Link, alongside Fern Britton, Owain Wyn Evans, Naga Munchetty, Charlie Stayt, Mr Motivator, Carol McGiffin, and Diarmuid Gavin.
Who else is in the Strictly Come Dancing 2024 line-up?
The current line-up sees comedian Chris McCausland, JLS singer JB Gill, opera singer and presenter Wynne Evans, singer and 80s legend Toyah Willcox, as well as Dr Punam Krishan.
Unofficially, Olympic champion Tom Dean accidentally revealed that he’ll also be doing Strictly.

After she was revealed to be taking part during Vernon Kay’s Radio 2 show, Dr Punam said: ‘This still doesn’t feel real, I am overjoyed to be a contestant on this year’s show.
‘I have watched Strictly every year with my family and it feels extra special that it’s the 20th year, I can’t believe I will be the one getting Strictly-fied now.
‘This is so out of my comfort zone, but I’m up for the journey and will give it my absolute all.’
