The 1% Club host Lee Mack has labelled a contestant a ‘greedy sod’ after he revealed he was already a millionaire.
The ITV game show has been a hit since it hit screens two years ago and sees 100 players pursuing a £100,000 prize, facing questions based on ‘logic and common sense’ rather than general knowledge.
However, on the latest episode to air, which was a repeat, Lee was left in shock after discovering one of the contestants had already scooped a significant prize before.
Early in the episode, Lee spoke to some of the unlucky few who had failed to answer the first question correctly and were already out of the running.
One of them was Kevin Jones, who Lee exclaimed had ‘been unlucky tonight’.
‘Are you usually unlucky?’ he questioned.

However, Kevin’s answer shocked both the host and his fellow contestants.
‘I’ve been very lucky in the past,’ he explained.
After Lee asked, ‘in what respect?’, he replied: ‘I won the lottery.’
Looking surprised, Lee questioned him further and asked whether he was a National Lottery winner.
‘I am. I won six million,’ he revealed as some people started cheering him and clapping.
‘Six million quid!?,’ Lee exclaimed, before Kevin clarified it was actually £6.1 million he’d won.

Jokingly taking aim, Lee added: ‘[You wanted] another 100 grand. You greedy sod!’
‘I wanted to come on here for the challenge, but sadly I’ve not done very well,’ Kevin shared as the studio burst into laughter.
‘It seems weirdly fitting that you’ve gone out in the first question,’ Lee quipped before moving on with the game.

Earlier this year another contestant faced a slightly uncomfortable moment after being accused of cheating.
Viewers claimed Jason Duckett was trying to give away the answer to other contestants, one of whom included his wife.
During the 20% question, which read ‘To which body part can you add one letter at the start to make it the word for the job it does?’ Jason appeared to be touching his ears.

However, he’s now insisted that although ‘ear’ was the right answer, the gesture was purely a coincidence.
The DJ said: ‘I almost admire the creativity of someone to come up with that because I hadn’t thought of that.
‘There was nothing to gain for either of us. We were both out. Anything I was doing it was to just sort of calm myself.’
The couple were both eventually knocked out of the game.
The 1% Club is streaming on ITVX.
