The Umbrella Academy viewers are lamenting the end of the hit Netflix series ahead of the final season hitting screens.

Based on the comic book series of the same name, the superhero series revolves around a dysfunctional family of adopted sibling superheroes who reunite to solve the mystery of their father’s death and the threat of an imminent apocalypse.

The series, which premiered in 2019, stars Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan and Aidan Gallagher.

One of Netflix’s most streamed shows ever, another two seasons have since been released, with the fourth set to be streaming on the platform from tomorrow.

However, when it was announced a fourth season was on its way last year, Netflix also announced this would be the last.

As the release of the final six episodes approaches, many fans have expressed their devastation over the end of the series.

‘Is anyone else getting very emotional over the end of TUA?’ user XCX posted on X.

‘The way I want series 4 of #theumbrellaacademy so bad but I also don’t because I don’t want it to end is so confusing. My emotions are very mixed,’ CuraDara shared.

‘IM GENUINELY CRYING I DON’T WANT IT TO END,’ melorzo added.

Meanwhile, SunSoar25 added: ‘I can’t wait to watch season 4 and see all of them again, but I’m so nervous for them and don’t want it to end!’

Another said they anticipated being a ‘sobbing mess’ when it ended while someone else said they were ‘not ready to let the show go’.

When announcing the end of the show, the official account for The Umbrella Academy wrote on social media: ‘Family meeting, Brellies: We’re going on a fourth and final adventure.’

The announcement was accompanied by an image of an umbrella, with the number ‘4’ inside, with the caption: ‘The final season.’

The last season of the show ended with a major twist (spoilers ahead), there was a new timeline dictated by the family patriarch, Reginald (Colm Feore), and the siblings no longer have their powers.

The stakes are also now higher than ever before, with new enemies who want to see them wiped from existence.

The Umbrella Academy is streaming on Netflix.
