It’s hard to believe it’s been 13 years since Katy B declared she was On A Mission, and the star hasn’t aged a day since.

The Lights On singer appeared randomly on Maya Jama’s Instagram story after the pair bumped into each other while filming at a rooftop bar.

Maya’s picture gave nothing away as Katy grinned in the background under an umbrella as the 29-year-old presenter flashed her pearly white teeth in front.

Katy, 35, shot to fame in 2011 when she released her debut album On A Mission, with the lead single aptly named Katy on a Mission.

She was just 22 at the time, having studied at the BRIT School and guest-starring on other tracks before getting her first chance to go solo.

Katy on a Mission is certified platinum in the UK and is by far her biggest hit, even getting an Arctic Monkeys cover on Radio 1’s Live Lounge in 2012.

The track peaked at number one on the UK Indie Chart and number five on the UK Singles Chart, and has become her signature song.

From her debut album, Katy also released Lights On as a second single, which landed straight at number four and stayed in the top 10 for three weeks.

After the success of her debut album, the Peckham-born singer — whose full name is Kathleen Brien — released her second studio record Little Red.

From this came her third hit Crying for No Reason, which saw success at number five on the UK charts.

Her last studio offering, Honey, came out in 2016 after she collaborated with Tinie Tempah on her first number-one track Turn the Music Louder (Rumble).

She disappeared from the charts after this, taking an extended hiatus away from music until 2021 when Katy shared an EP.

Recently, Katy is back touring and even landed a slot at Glastonbury 2024 which she called ‘one of [her] favourite gigs ever’.

‘Such a dream to celebrate 30 years of @rinse.fm at the Temple at @glastofest 🤩,’ she wrote on Instagram. ‘Standing on stage it seemed so much bigger than how I remembered.

‘It was so overwhelming seeing the whole crowd on different levels, raving like we were in a colosseum together 🥹, literately one of my favourite gigs ever.’

In another post promoting her appearance, she said: ‘You can catch me at Cyndi Lauper, Shania Twain and Avril Lavigne singing at the top of my lungs 🙏🏻.’

Katy isn’t the only famous musician in her family as her dad Dave O’Brien also worked as a professional artist.

He even appeared in Eurovision as part of the Les Humphries Singers, who entered for Germany in 1976 with the infamously bad Sing Sang Song.
