Proof That Michael Jordan Was Never Embarrassed in the NBA Playoffs Unlike LeBron James

In an embarrassing blowout loss to Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers fell behind in the Playoff series by 3-2. The Lakers faced complete destruction on the court in a 30-point defeat such that LeBron James had to leave the court early amidst an utter mess.

Questions are being raised and fingers being pointed at the defending champions after such a shame-show in Game 5. Lakers’ offensive powerhouse, Anthony Davis, was benched for that game with an unfortunate groin injury that had happened in the previous game. Now, their leader LeBron James has to take the blame on his shoulders.

Statistics prove Michael Jordan’s brilliance time and again

The 2020 champions weren’t expected to fall so low without one man on the team. Now that everything’s done and dusted, LeBron’s legacy of getting a pedestal as decorated as Michael Jordan is being pushed away. After this particular loss, the embarrassment has spread to the statistics as well.

Considering the King’s magnificent playoff numbers throughout his career, Michael Jordan’s postseason statistics were falling short by comparison. But as it turns out, MJ had never lost a playoff game by 30 or more points.

In addition to being a 6-time champion, a 14-time NBA All-Star, and the greatest basketball player, Michael Jordan’s numbers are something else that inspire awe.

LeBron James faces a big blow as an all-time great

This statistic comes as a big shock as LeBron James has been in this place five times counting this latest loss against the Suns. Michael has been in and out of many postseason races; he has also been defeated by 20+ points in playoffs. But a 30-point game deficit was always out of question.

This stat daggers a direct dent in LeBron’s reputation as an all-time great. Social media and Twitter reacted to the Lakers’ playoff loss in the most startling manner, considering the confidence LeBron instilled in his fans prior to the tie-breaking game. Everything went to bits as the 4-time champion couldn’t take charge of things.

Michael Jordan had also been through his days of being thrown to the losing end. But a 30-point gap isn’t something he would have probably tolerated. Playoffs are ultimately about the fight for earning one added game to prove yourself. However, a single setback could make Bron pay this season. Do you agree?
