A woman ‘left for dead’ by her ex-boyfriend, who once appeared in How I Met Your Mother, has spoken about the shocking attack for the first time.

Earlier this year actor Nick Pasqual, 34, was charged with attempted murder, domestic violence and assault after an alleged attack on his former girlfriend Allie Shehorn, 35.

The alleged incidents took place at 4.30am on May 23 in Los Angeles after she filed a restraining order against him five days earlier.

Soon after allegedly stabbing his partner, Pasqual is said to have attempted to flee the United States.

Now, three months on, Allie has spoken publicly for the first time and shown the extent of scars on her neck, shoulder, arms and wrist.

During the attack, Allie suffered more than 20 stab wounds when targeted in her own home.

Her faced a court hearing on Monday, which Allie attended.

Speaking to the Daily Mail after the hearing, the make-up artist said she intended to attend all future court appearances to show her ex he ‘can’t get away with it’.

‘I just hope that there’s justice served,’ she said.

‘People should know that this shouldn’t happen, and he can’t get away with it.

‘I’ll be at every court hearing, even if I don’t have to be, just to show him that I’m still here.’

Allie, who has worked on Babylon and the 2024 remake of Mean Girls, said she is ‘dealing with permanent damage’ after the attack and ‘can’t go back completely to how I was’.

During her ex’s brief court hearing in San Fernando, California, Pasqual refused to make eye contact with her.

Instead, he sat hunched in a bright blue prison jumpsuit with his hair scraped into a bun inside a cage, looking only at his lawyer, as reported by the publication.

Both he and his attorney had objected to media coverage of the court case, but their objections were overruled by Judge Bernie LaForteza.

During the five minutes he spent in court, Pasqual only spoke once to tell the judge he understood he was waiving his right to a speedy trial.

After the attack, Allie spent more than a week in hospital after the attack, with one of her hands remaining in a cast months later.

She is uncertain if she will be able to recover enough to return to work.

Pasqual is also facing charges over another attack on her three days prior to the stabbing that allegedly included banging her head on the floor of their home.

Allie applied for a restraining order in the aftermath.

According to her application for the restraining order, Pasqual allegedly attacked Allie on a number of other occasions, hitting her with a belt on January 29, breaking down several doors in their home on March 6 and raping and choking her on April 14.

‘He has been violent in the past but never physically with me apart from two nights where he ripped clothes off of me,’ she explained.

In the application, the special effects make-up artist also asked for protection for her ‘surrogate mother’ and for the former couple’s white husky-mix dog Riley.

Pasqual played the character of Will in a 2011 episode of How I Met Your Mother, and has also had minor roles in shows including Archives 81, High Mystery and American Gangster: Trap Queens.

After the attack, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón said that his ‘thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with the victim in this horrific incident’.

‘Our office, including our Bureau of Victim Services, extends our support and resources to her as she embarks on the long and difficult journey of healing from both the physical and emotional trauma inflicted upon her.

‘This heinous incident is a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic violence. We will ensure that the individual responsible for this egregious act is held accountable for their actions.’

Pasqual will return to court on October 8.

If convicted as charged, the maximum sentence is life in state prison.
