Three decades after her massive hit song Doin’ The Do, 90s singer Betty Boo has resurfaced on social media.

Betty, real name Alison Clarkson, is back and has new music ready to unleash on the world with her fourth studio album Rip Up the Rule Book due out this month.

Now 54, she celebrated the 34-year anniversary of her song Where Are You Baby hitting the UK charts on TikTok.

Dancing and lip-syncing to her own song, the hitmaker revealed she had even kept a souvenir from the original music video.

She wrote: ‘Where Are You Baby? was released this week in 1990! Who remembers dancing to this one?

‘The boots in this video are the original boots from the official video! 👢💃🏼.’

Much of her social media is filled with throwback clips from her days as a 90s pop star, including a leopard print-clad music video of herself at age 22.

‘I’m On My Way is 30 this week! 🤩🤯 How did that happen?! This video!!!,’ Betty wrote on TikTok.

Fans went wild seeing her now, calling the rapper ‘legendary’ and commenting how ‘amazing’ she looks.

‘Shut the front door! Is actually Betty boo? If it is… woo you look amazing 30 years later!’ commented user9030704255505.

‘Wow you haven’t aged at all 🥰,’ said Shelley Marie while Johnbeckett10 added: ‘Please don’t tell us this was released in 1990!!! Has it really been that long??’

‘You literally haven’t aged,’ wrote Simon as Lee Beaumont shared: ‘I was a massive fan of you and your music, I’m so glad you’re back and you look no different ❤️.’

One user, right_direction, did point out she now has a little bit of Carol Vordermann about her look – mixed with Claudia Winkleman’s hair.

Betty’s track Doin’ The Do skyrocketed her to fame after her collaboration with the Beatmasters called Hey DJ/I Can’t Dance saw chart success in the 80s.

Where Are You Baby, her second solo track, pushed through to number 3 on the UK charts ahead of debut album Boomania.

She solidified herself as a star by winning the 1991 Brit Award for best British Breakthrough Act.

However, scandal rocked her career not long after when on tour in Australia she was revealed to be lip-syncing, dropping her microphone and fleeing the stage.

The tour was cancelled after this, with Betty citing flu and fever.

She returned the following year with a new record label and a new album, although GRRR! It’s Betty Boo failed to win over the charts.

Track Let Me Take You There peaked at number 12 on the UK singles but the record as a whole could not push past 62.

In 2006, Betty returned under the name of WigWam as a duo with Blur’s Alex James with the pair only releasing one single together – which peaked at 60.

Two years ago, the singer returned once again and released album Boomerang, her first full studio record in 30 years.

It broke the UK top 50, peaking at 45 but failed to produce any charting singles, however, fans did rally around the 90s star’s return to the spotlight.

On August 30, 2024, Betty is set to release her next album Rip Up the Rule Book and is teasing lead single One Day on her social media.
