This Morning star announces he’s going to become a dad for the first time-Ruth Lawes-Entertainment – Metro

This Morning guest doctor Dr Rupy Aujla has revealed he is expecting his first child with partner Rochelle.

The 39-year-old medic, who also hosted Channel 4’s Cook Clever Waste Less with Dame Prue Leith, announced he was becoming a dad on Instagram.

On the social media site, Dr Rupy shared a picture of himself holding onto dog Nutmeg alongside Rochelle with her blossoming baby bump.

He captioned the post: ‘We’re expecting 👶🏽!

‘I’m super happy to let you know that soon there will be a baby in the Doctor’s Kitchen!

‘I wanted to make a joke about how there’s a wholegrain, seeded, gluten free, high fibre bun in the oven. But Rochelle wouldn’t let me.

‘I guess I’m going to have to start learning how to create kid-friendly recipes?

‘Thank you all so much for your best wishes and blessings!’

He signed off the post: ‘Much love Rupy, Rochelle and Nutmeg 🐶.’

Dr Rupy’s 396K followers and foodie friends flocked to the comment section to congratulate the couple on expanding their family.

Dr Rupy was an NHS doctor for over 12 years before founding healthy recipe brand The Doctor’s Kitchen.

He has appeared on TV shows including This Morning, Cook Clever Waste Less, Saturday Kitchen and BBC Morning Live.

For the BBC, Dr Rupy also fronted programmes Cooking in The Doctor’s Kitchen and Thrifty Cooking in The Doctor’s Kitchen.

A Sunday Times bestselling author, Dr Rupy has published three cookbooks including Doctor’s Kitchen 3-2-1.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
