Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh has officially been granted her name change, it has been claimed.

The 18-year-old was born Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt in 2006, nearly a year after the former couple, dubbed Brangelina, started dating.

Shortly after her 18th birthday in May, she filed documents to drop her famous dad’s surname – amid her parents’ ongoing legal battles.

She later announced her intention via an advert in the Los Angeles Times, per California law, and was due to attend a hearing in July, before it was pushed back to today.

According to People Magazine, the teenager has reportedly been legally allowed to change her name, and will now go by Shiloh Jolie.

Brad and Angelina first met while filming Mr and Mrs Smith together in 2005, and welcomed Shiloh together in May, 2006.

They are also parents to six other children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Vivienne and Knox.

The exes tied the knot in 2014 but it wasn’t to last and they went their separate ways two years later, before being declared legally single in 2019.

Their divorce is still ongoing amid bitter disputes over their Château Miraval winery.

Shiloh first filed the petition to change her name on May 27, the day she turned 18.

Following this, she took out an advert in the legal notice section of the Los Angeles Times, and TMZ reported at the time that it stated people are invited to attend a court date if they object to the change.

California law states that a person must publish the legal forms to change their name in a newspaper for one month before a judge can approve the petition.

Although Brad has yet to speak publicly about the decision, an insider claimed that he was ‘aware and upset’ about the move.

‘He’s aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last name,’ a source told People Magazine. ‘The reminders that he’s lost his children, is of course not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad.’

They also shared that he has found happiness in his budding romance with girlfriend Ines de Ramon, but the distance from his children ‘pains’ him.

Shiloh isn’t the first of their brood to take the step to drop Pitt from her name – as Vivienne also appears to have done the same.

Her choice was revealed on the playbill for her new musical The Outsiders, with the credits listing her just as ‘Vivienne Jolie’ – while Zahara introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie when she joined the Mu Pi chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College in November.

However, it is not clear whether they have legally changed dropped their dad’s surname.
