The Only Way is Essex star Lauren Goodger has revealed how she felt that all of her friends ‘vanished’ following the death of her daughter Lorena two years ago.
The TOWIE star, 37, had been expecting her second child with on-again-off-again boyfriend Charles Drury, 24, following the birth of daughter Larose in 2021.
However, the infant passed away only moments after her birth, having been born with her umbilical chord wrapped around her neck.
In a statement released at the time, Lauren revealed that little Lorena had died, sharing how she hadn’t suffered any pregnancy or labour complications prior to her death.
Sharing a picture as she held her newborn daughter’s hand, Lauren described herself as ‘broken,’ and has continued to speak openly about the impact of the death on her life in the years which followed.
This includes a sense of loneliness and abandonment she felt after friends abruptly vanished from her life in the wake of the tragedy.

In an interview with OK! Lauren opened up about what she has been through, describing Lorena’s death as the ‘most traumatic experience of my life.’
She continued: ‘As time’s gone on, after what I went though losing Lorena, people think “Oh it’s been two years now, she’s alright.” But it’s actually worse because you become lonelier.
‘I’ve never experienced loneliness like it in my life.’

Lauren went on to talk about how she has lost contact with close friends in the years since.
‘No-one steps up, people have DMed me on Instagram to say “Exactly the same thing happened to me, as soon as I had this loss, everyone vanished.” I don’t know what it does to people, but they step back, they don’t step forward,’ she said.
While she does have help with childcare from her ex – and the girls’ father – Charles Drury, she finds that co-parenting isn’t easy either.
‘The hard thing with Charlie is he lives three-and-a-half hours away in Chesterfield. In an emergency he’s unavailable. I meet him twice a week halfway,’ she shared.

Earlier this year, the former Celebrity Big Brother star revealed her panic as Larose was rushed to hospital after ‘struggling to breathe.’
In an Instagram post at the time, Lauren shared a snap of her daughter, two, watching an iPad from the hospital bed.
Lauren explained: ‘Weds she was all bunged up like hayfever and then in night got a temp and last night coughing so much and throwing up.
Thankfully, after a round of steroids and the assistance of a breathing mask, Larose recovered from her sickness.

The reality TV icon revealed how she coped with grief and trauma by exercising and therapy.
‘I stayed in my bubble just me and my daughter and my little family and in that time I lost a lot and my cortisol levels are so I high I made some positive changes I went back to work and I trained near every day. I do have therapy but I need stick to it the gym is my medicine,’ she wrote in a lengthy and emotional post to social media.
