Celebrity Race Across The World fans were shocked to see the worse-for-wear coach toilet Scott Mills and husband Sam Vaughan were subjected to in the latest episode.

Episode two of BBC’s hit reality competition series, Celebrity Race Across The World, saw our four celebrity couples travel across another section of Brazil to Lençóis as they continue the race to the ultimate finish line – Frutillar in southern Chile.

Each pair faced their own set of challenges on this new leg.

Kelly Brook and her husband, Jeremy were eager to keep their lead; father and son, Jeff and Freddy Brazier, shared a few emotional bonding moments; and actor Kola Bokinni and his cousin, Mary Ellen continued soaking in the gorgeous Brazillian landscape.

But none had it harder than presenter Scott Mills, 51, and his husband Sam who were scrambling to the checkpoint at the end of the episode as they endured a several-hour-long coach journey.

If that wasn’t enough, at one point the camera flicked over to the toilet situation which would make even the strongest stomach stir.

‘I don’t want to mention it because there are other people here on the bus, but,…’ Scott explained in the final minutes.

When it was clear he couldn’t go on, Sam took over.

‘Basically the toilet is overflowing with a brown colour, the swishing back and forth,’ he described with a front-on shot of the graphic image.

Scott then cut him off, looking understandably nauseous. He added: ‘That’s enough detail.’

Viewers were then treated to the coach emptying the suspicious-looking liquid onto the ground outside and shared their horror on social media.

‘The toilet on the bus is disgusting,’ @mlwelshwoman posted on X.

‘Omg that overflowing toilet is gonna haunt my dreams,’ @xstephster echoed.

This is just one instance where Scott struggled during the contest. As he told Metro.co.uk in a recent interview, he asked producers to stop filming for three days after suffering debilitating symptoms.

‘I started getting these mad headaches – I don’t get headaches – but I was getting really awful ones to the point where one day I said, “I can’t film today, I’m really sorry.”

‘Obviously, there was a medic there and he made sure I ate and that I had some tablets to try and get rid of it but it wouldn’t go for three days.’

The story had a happy ending, however, as his husband Scott realised he was simply without his regular coffee.

‘It was massive caffeine withdrawal,’ he shared.

The latest episode also saw Scott reflect on his age – now entering his 50s – and the age-gap between him and Sam, who is 35.

‘I am a bit in denial about my age,’ he said in a confessional. ‘I don’t know how you’re supposed to feel. People say, “oh, your knees”… I feel the same.

‘I forget there’s an age difference between me and Sam. He’s a bit old for his years, and I’m a bit young. We meet in the middle.’

For now the duo are majorly lagging behind the rest, having still not reached the second checkpoint by the end of the episode.

Here’s hoping they make it out of the coach by next week.

Celebrity Race Across The World airs every Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One and Player. The first two episodes are available to stream now.
