An actress who was at the centre of the famous ‘we were on a break’ storyline in Friends is unrecognisable nearly 30 years later.
Canadian actress Angela Featherstone began her career as a model in the 80s before going on to work as an actress.
She is best known for playing the Maid on Seinfeld, Chloe in Friends, and the fiancée (Linda), who left Adam Sandler’s character Robbie at the altar in The Wedding Singer.
Appearing in the third season of the beloved sitcom, her character worked at a copy store in Manhattan.
She initially asked Joey and Chandler out, with the pair spending the time before their date wondering how they would manage the subsequent threesome.
But after they left, Chloe slept with Ross, who at the time was drunk and believed his relationship with Rachel was already over.

It wasn’t until the next morning Ross – who had believed Rachel slept with her co-worker Mark – heard a message she left on his answering machine telling him she wants to reconcile with him.
However, his one-night stand is then discovered by Rachel, who believes he cheated, while Ross is convinced they were ‘on a break’.
Despite only appearing in two episodes, The One Where Ross and Rachel Take a Break and The One With The Morning After, Angela’s role in the series (and breaking up one of TV’s most iconic couples) is one many fans remember years later.
In the show Angela’s character had a short brown bob, however in recent years the 59-year-old actress has rocked both blonde and red styles, posting life updates with fans on her Instagram account.
Speaking about the experience filming Friends, Angela told Radio Times in 2022: ‘I think I worked two weeks on that show in like, 1997 or something and it’s lasted a lifetime.
‘Actually, I ran into David Schwimmer at a comedy festival years later and he told me that they kept talking about the character. So, for me, it was two weeks’ work and it was lovely and I had lots of fun, new experiences.

She went on to appear in shows including The Mentalist, Girls and Ray Donovan (Picture: Angela Featherstone/ Instagram)
‘But I was done after two weeks – but I guess they kept writing about Chloe for a long time after, so she lived on a lot longer than I actually did [on the show].’
She went on to admit she never actually watched the show, but her character ‘became bigger in people’s minds than I was even aware of’.
After Friends, Angela went on to appear in The Twilight Zone, The Mentalist, Girls and Ray Donovan, as well as working as a sitcom screenwriter for Sony, DreamWorks and NBC.
She is also the founder of the charity Fostering Care, which provides support for children who have aged out of the foster care system.
Friends is streaming on Netflix.
