The BBC has revealed a 00s popstar is taking on a new role in beloved series RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

Aaron Renfree, 36, who was a member of S Club 7’s spin-off kid’s band S Club Juniors, has joined the reality competition series as a choreographer.

The star will be adding some razzle dazzle to the Queens’ dance routines in a bid to impress judges RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Alan Carr and Graham Norton.

Aaron looked totally different with a shaved head in a picture for RuPaul’s Drag Race UK compared to his years in S Club Juniors.

Speaking about his new gig, he enthused: ‘I had the best time choreographing the Drag Race UK Queens this series!

‘I’m a big fan of the show and RuPaul and it’s always something I’ve wanted to be a part of.

‘I can’t wait for everyone to see the incredible routine we put together!’

Aaron burst into the scene in 2001 in S Club Juniors alongside Frankie Bridge, Rochelle Humes, Calvin Goldspink, Stacey McClean, Daisy Evans, Jay Asforis and Hannah Richings.

Later renamed to S Club 8, the group released bangers including Automatic High, One Step Closer and New Direction, as well as two albums Together and Sundown.

The band split just three years after forming in 2004.

After leaving S Club Juniors, Aaron studied Musical Theatre Acting at Laine Theatre Arts before turning to choreography.

He has worked as a choreographer on The X Factor live tour, BBC’s The Greatest Dancer, ITV’s Dancing On Ice, ITV’s The Masked Singer and The Masked Dancer and for Greatest Days: The Official Take That Musical.

Aaron has also worked on dance routines for The Saturdays, Vanessa White, Ariana DeBose and Girls Aloud icon Nadine Coyle.

However, while original band S Club recently reunited for a huge reunion tour to mark their 25th anniversary, it doesn’t seem like the same is on the cards for S Club Juniors.

When asked about a potential S Club Juniors comeback, Frankie previously told Metro.co.uk: ‘God knows! I had a message from Calvin this morning, and a message from Aaron, saying everyone’s been on to them.’

She added: ‘‘Apparently, the S Club 7 Instagram only follows every member of S Club Juniors – I don’t know what they’re playing at, but as far as I know we’re not getting back together.’

New celebrity guest judges for RuPaul’s Drag Race UK include presenter Amanda Holden, Steps member Claire Richards, Duran Duran singer Simon Le Bon and singer Mabel.

RulPaul’s Drag Race UK is returning to BBC Three and iPlayer this Autumn.
