Strictly Come Dancing fans have spotted a huge clue revealing who one of the first couples of the new series may be.

While the dazzling launch show is just weeks away, details over which pro dancers will be partnered with which celebrities are being kept tightly under wraps.

It has been rumoured that Love Island star Tasha Ghouri is paired up with  Strictly veteran Aljaz Skorjanec, while DIY SOS host Nick Knowles and Nadiya Bychkova were spotted at the same shopping centre together in London, sparking speculation.

And fans now think they know who Opera singer Wynne Evans and EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick will be dancing with.

Taking to Reddit after spotting a huge clue, user @southparkenthusiast3 claimed: ‘Katya [Jones] and Michelle [Tsiakkas] both had Spotify playlists found each with 1/2 songs in them, named ‘Wynne’ and ‘Jamie’ respectively.’

While Michelle’s playlist appears to have been taken down, the Strictly fan claimed it had Do I Wanna Know? by Arctic Monkeys in it.

Meanwhile, at the time of writing, Katya’s is still available, and has Lionel Richie’s Dancing On The Ceiling in it.

‘Now that’s some grade A sleuthing,’ @RainbowRevolver commented.

‘Poirot doesn’t have a patch on reality tv fans,’ @AwareExplanation785 added.

Go Compare star Wynne, 52, previously said he plans on ‘combining my love for Opera into one of my routines’.

‘I am honestly still pinching myself, a portly balding opera singer, me, taking part in Strictly Come Dancing?!’ he said.

‘I’m not entirely sure how I’ll get along, if all else fails I’ll just have to learn the art of distraction.’

Meanwhile Jamie, 30, is returning to the ballroom after winning the Christmas special last year with Nancy Xu.

‘I had a ball doing the Strictly Christmas special last year, so when I was asked to join for this series it was the easiest yes!’ he explained.

‘This is a fresh challenge and it will be so different to be learning a new dance every week and for the public to have their say.’

This comes after it was reported that Strictly will feature no same-sex couple this year, after the past four series included at least one pairing.

In 2020 ex-boxer Nicola Adams and professional Katya Jones became the first same-sex coupling, while the year later, Johannes Radebe made it to the final with John Whaite.

Comedian Jayde Adams was paired with Karen Hauer in 2022, and Giovanni Pernice with Richie Anderson in 2023.

Last year, all-male duo Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin also made it to the final, but this year, there’s said to be no same-sex pairings.

That’s not the only change coming to Strictly this year, as the BBC has introduced new welfare measures, including the presence of a chaperone in each training session, after a string of controversies.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and iPlayer on Saturday, September 14.
