James Bond favourite Aaron Taylor-Johnson was spotted in London notably without his wedding ring, just months after he slammed ‘bizarre’ age gap discourse.

The Fall Guy actor, 34, started dating his filmmaker wife Sam Taylor-Johnson, 57, in 2009 – when Aaron was 18 and the Back to Black director was 42 – after meeting on the set of John Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy.

After getting engaged the same year, the pair eventually married in 2012. They share two children (Wylda Rae, 14, and Romy Hero, 12) and even celebrated their marriage with a vow renewal on their 10th anniversary two years ago.

Their relationship, however, has not been without backlash with fans raising concerns over their wide age gap and how young Aaron was when they first got together.

But now the Kick-Ass star has been spotted alone in London without his familiar gold wedding ring – although it is unclear what the reason is.

The actor was in West London enjoying a solo dinner dressed in a grey hoodie and black trousers, and seemed to be engrossed in a phone conversation when passer-bys noted the lack of wedding ring.

The absence of such a key piece of jewelry comes after the English actor made a rare comment about the social discourse on his relationship.

Earlier this year he told Rolling Stone UK that the gap has never bothered him.

‘What you gotta realize is that what most people were doing in their 20s, I was doing when I was 13,’ Aaron told the publication in March.

‘You’re doing something too quickly for someone else? I don’t understand that. What speed are you supposed to enjoy life at? It’s bizarre to me.’

The Hollywood hunk was recently in Venice for the film festival where he attended the Battleground premiere. On the red carpet he was sporting the gold band, making its sudden absences even more surprising.

When the couple celebrated their vow renewal, Aaron took to social media to praise his wife.

‘Sammy you are my love, my life, my soulmate, my wife, my world,’ he wrote in his post.

Meanwhile, the Fifty Shades of Grey director lauded him as ‘an incredible father to our brood’ which also includes her two children from her previous marriage to Jay Jopling,  Angelica, 27, and 18-year-old Jessie.

Nowadays, there is rampant speculation that Aaron could take over from Daniel Craig as the suave British agent, 007. Earlier this year, Sam even jumped into add her two pence to the rumours.

‘Carry on speculating. He’d be great,’ she told Jonathan Ross on ITV.

Sam then reflected on his approach as an actor.

‘It’s really interesting. When I directed Nowhere Boy, he wasn’t my husband. When I directed A Million Little Pieces he was,’ she said.

‘He gets very intense. It’s quite interesting depending on what character he’s playing.’

Whether he lands the gig remains to be seen, although more James Bond news could be on the horizon.

For now, Aaron is looking toward his next major gig as part of the cast of 28 Years Later, the highly anticipated threequel of the 2002 sci-fi horror franchise. He will star alongside Jodie Comer, Cillian Murphy and Ralph Fiennes.
