My second-best thrifting find of all time was $11 – I recognized the design & was stunned when I Googled the real price
A DESIGNER gem hidden in plain sight took one shopper’s trip to the second-hand shop to the next level.
She is living proof that looking chic and elegant doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg.

Redditor Great-escapist shared her thrift store score, saying it was the “second-best” thrifting find of all time.
“Haven’t gone thrifting in months,” she said.
“[I] scored this 3.1 Philip Lim handbag yesterday for $11. “[It’s] probably my second-best thrifting find of all time.”
“Now the only question is do I keep it and use it or try to resell it?”
THE LOOK FOR LESS
The high-end fashion brand 3.1 Philip Lim has price points in the hundreds and even thousands.
The Redditor looked up the bag to see how much it would resell for online.
“When I saw it, I was like, ‘Oh, quality leather bag. Oh, it’s 3.1 Philip Lim. Checked Google. Holy crap, it’s a $700 bag.’”
She said she decided to keep the accessory to herself.
“It only resells for like $150 to $200 on eBay, otherwise I would have listed it already, lol,” she added.
This wasn’t the Redditor’s top find — she also revealed her best thrift store nab.
“It was a pair of Manolo Blahnik quilted leather flats in my size for $4,” she said.
“They were separated on the racks so I spent 10 minutes combing it to find the match.
“My heart was pounding the whole time, lol.”
She added that on second thought, the new find may be the winner.
“Although the more I think about it, I think this purse might take the cake,” she said.
Several Redditors weighed in on the designer find.
“Definitely keep,” one wrote. “[It] will last forever and will go with lots of things.”
“Keep it and enjoy the find,” another added.
“Just checked the price. Holy cow. That could pay a year and a semester in the college I studied in,” said a third.
“If you don’t have another good black bag, keep it. The craftsmanship looks amazing.”
