BBC viewers are being urged to catch up on the first two seasons of Industry before it returns next week.

The drama follows ambitious bankers at the fictional investment firm Pierpoint in London as they trample all over each other to climb their career ladder while attending drug and sex-fuelled parties in the evening.

Starring the likes of Amy Winehouse actress Marisa Abela, and Joker: Folie à Deux’s Harry Lawtey, the workplace show has been described as a cross between Succession and Euphoria.

Fans had been frustrated Industry season 3 was released earlier in the US on HBO, but now they have been put out of their misery as it’s airing on BBC One next Tuesday, with all eight episodes available on iPlayer.

So if you’re looking for weekend entertainment, it’s just about enough time to get yourself clued up with the depraved shenanigans of the Pierpoint bankers ahead of the next instalment.

The sleeper hit has been hailed by fans on X, with @MikeyAbram exclaiming: ‘The writing on #Industry is extremely well done; that’s talent. The final 10 minutes were a work of art.’

Echoing their sentiment, @bhavnarai raved: ‘For a show filled with highly dislikable characters, Industry is a surprisingly good watch #IndustryHBO #industry.’

@MonocleFlyer wrote: ‘Thrilled! It is truly one of the best shows ever.’

@GirlGurl26 also added: ‘Yes, more money, power and debauchery. Let’s go Pierpoint Posse!’

In season 3 of Industry there is a new addition to the cast in the form of  Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington as Henry Muck, the CEO of a green tech energy company.

The official synopsis teases: ‘In season three, as Pierpoint looks to the future and takes a big bet on ethical investing, Yasmin, Robert, and Eric find themselves front and centre in the splashy IPO of Lumi, a green tech energy company led by Sir Henry Muck, in a story that runs all the way to the very top of finance, media, and government.

‘Since leaving Pierpoint, Harper is eager to get back into the addictive thrill of finance and finds an unlikely partner in FutureDawn portfolio manager Petra Koenig.’

Writer and consulting producer Joseph Charlton recently told Digital Spy it was ‘fair to say the series won’t shy away from acknowledging the real world, and things that are present in the news’.

‘I think what’s unique and good about the show… in the first series, there are references to Brexit. In the second series, there’s Covid. In the third series, there’ll be contemporary issues, too,’ he added.

Earlier this week, it was announced that there would be even more Industry down the line after HBO confirmed it had been renewed for season 4.

In a statement, co-creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay said: ‘We are beyond thrilled and grateful to HBO, the incredible team at Bad Wolf and our phenomenal cast and crew for their continued belief in Industry and for allowing us to grow as creators, writers and now directors whilst taking the show to new heights.

‘We can’t wait to dive deeper and deliver the best season yet in season 4.’

Industry season 3 starts on BBC One on Tuesday at 10.40pm and all episodes will be available to stream on iPlayer.
