MVP has officially joined All Elite Wrestling just weeks after leaving WWE.

The 50-year-old veteran, who is a former United States Champion and previously served as manager for the Hurt Business on Raw and SmackDown, made the jump to AEW on last night’s Gland Slam special edition of Dynamite.

He came out to confront Prince Nana as he was giving an update about Swerve Strickland, who he said isn’t cleared to return after losing to ‘Hangman’ Adam Page at All Out.

MVP – who left WWE over the summer when his contact expired – interrupted him and agreed Swerve is the most dangerous man in AEW as he spoke about his achievements in the company.

He insisted his loss at All Out wasn’t the fault of Swerve, instead blaming management for putting more effort into ‘shucking and jiving’, in a dig to Nana.

He told him to pass on his card to his client, and let Swerve know he’s ready to ‘talk business’.

MVP has got people raving after his appearance, responding to one fan who said they would be tuning into AEW after his debut, particularly given the ‘possibility’ Bobby Lashley could join him.

‘I’m working on something. Follow my flow,’ he teased, while he told another viewer: ‘I promise you will love what I have in store for YOU!!! Please stand by…’

And responding to a different fan ready to give AEW a chance, he added: ‘Please do. More to come.’

Recently, Totally Harmless Concept LLC filed to trademark the Hurt Syndicate, having already filed for trademarks on other phrases and names related to MVP.

According to Fightful, there have been talks and ‘even some plans’ to continue a group similar to the Hurt Business outside of WWE, after the members were all disappointed when it came to an end.

The outlet added: ‘Specifically, we’ve heard that AEW has had discussions with Bobby Lashley, MVP and Shelton Benjamin in recent weeks. However, we’ve not been told that a deal was done or imminent. ‘

MVP hasn’t wrestled since 2022, and he wasn’t featured on screen for WWE at all since accompanying Omos to the ring as his manager on live events earlier this year.

Following his debut in 2006, he quickly became United States Champion and would hold the title twice during his career, as well as a tag team title run with Matt Hardy.

He left at the end of 2010, and the following year moved on to New Japan Pro Wrestling, TNA Wrestling and the independent scene, before returning to WWE at the 2020 Royal Rumble.

This led to a full-time return to the company, a run which was highlighted by his group the Hurt Business alongside Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander.
