The Masked Dancer final is airing tonight, but will there be another series of the hit ITV series?

Zip, Scarecrow, Carwash and Squirrel will be battling out for the crown this evening, with judges Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Oti Mabuse and Mo Gilligan joined by guest Holly Willoughby to have a go at guessing.

Last night’s episode of the competition saw Kelly Brook and Craig Revel Horwood falling at the last hurdle, when they were unmasked as Frog and Knickerbocker Glory respectively.

There’s no denying that we’ve all loved screaming at our TVs every night as some of the biggest names finally shed their intricate costumes.

But will we get another season on our screens?

ITV bosses have yet to confirm that The Masked Dancer will be commissioned for a second season, but judging by the reaction of fans so far, we won’t be waiting too long for an announcement.

We’re already intrigued by some of those costumes…

Will there be another series of The Masked Singer?

The Masked Singer UK first aired last January and viewers were instantly hooked, desperate to figure out exactly who was belting out bops underneath intricate costumes.

After the insane success of season two, it was announced that a third series of the competition will be hitting our screens later this year.

Rita Ora – who was replaced on the panel by Oti Mabuse for the Masked Dancer – will also be back for the new episodes.

Addressing the news, Derek McLean, who works alongside the producers of The Masked Singer franchise, telling the Daily Star: ‘The key thing everyone just needs to understand is Rita was not available for The Masked Dancer because she was filming in Australia and the thing she does on The Masked Singer is be the voice expert.

‘She is the one everyone turns to and says, “Do you know who this is?” and “Can you tell who that voice is?”’

Who hosts The Masked Dancer?

Joel Dommett has taken on hosting duties in both The Masked Singer and The Masked Dancer, giving the judges the perfect amount of sass and side-eye over their outlandish guesses.

But the comedian was left ‘fearing for his job’ when he accidentally left slip of a massive clue on Lorraine earlier this week – telling Cat Deeley a huge spoiler which turned out to be Dita Von Teese’s reveal.

‘There was one [reveal] in particular, that I genuinely… for me, it was the biggest reaction I gave when I was told it was them,’ he told the presenter.

‘When they told me, I was like, “Woah!” I couldn’t believe it, it’s mad, and they may be revealed very soon, potentially tonight…’

As a delighted Cat Deeley laughed that they had a ‘Lorraine exclusive’, Joel joked: ‘I think I might have lost my job, I’m not sure.’

Who has been in The Masked Dancer?

There have already been a string of famous faces unmasked this series, ahead of a star-studded finale.

Diversity star and Britain’s Got Talent winner Jordan Banjo was the first to be kicked off the show, with Louise Redknapp, Dita Von Teese following suit over the next two episodes.

Eddie the Eagle, Christopher Dean and Zoe Ball also showed off their dance moves on stage, with Craig Revel Horwood and Kelly Brook revealed in Friday’s semi-final double elimination.

But who will take home the crown?

The Masked Dancer finale kicks off tonight, at 7.30pm, on ITV.
