Call of Duty Pros Clayster, Accuracy and Prestinni Fire Back at Reddit Thread Criticizing Octane

Back in 2019 during the Call of Duty world league on Black Ops 4, Octane was proclaimed by 100 Thieves fans as a hero. He has just won the MVP award and the team picked up its first championship. However, when it comes to professional Call of Duty, you are only as good as your last performance.

Fast forward two years later and Octane is being used as the scapegoat for Seattle Surge’s two-game losing streak. An entire subreddit was created following Octane’s tweet bashing the online format of the Call of Duty League.

Sam wrote “I hate online Call of Duty so much. I can’t believe I haven’t completely lost my mind yet.” People on Reddit assumed that Octane was blaming the online format for his team’s consecutive losses. Resultantly, Octane’s name was tarnished in this Reddit thread. Sam later replied to his own tweet saying “And of course people interpret this tweet as me saying we’d never lose on LAN lmao. Literally has zero to do with it I’m just over the covid online crap.”

Clayster, Prestinni and Accuracy defend the honour of Call of Duty pro’s

His fellow Call of Duty pro’s Clayster, Prestinni and Accuracy immediately came to his defence and did not tolerate this criticism. Clayster responded to the ‘pathetic’ fans asking them to “do better”. He wrote, “Shit like this kinda makes me mad, even with me bringing up the strain of doing all this online, we still have a Reddit thread of people cooking someone struggling.”

Clayster’s logic makes complete sense. Fans should uplift players when they are struggling. If a struggling player only receives criticism, they will lose confidence.

Similarly, Prestinni gave his own take on the situation. He reminded Octane that fans “don’t care” about players feelings and that they will  ” keep tearing ya down.” Accuracy also weighed in on the fact that pros are not allowed to have opinions if it doesn’t correlate to their performance in today’s world.

Players and fans are the two most essential parts of any E-sports organisation. Only when the two support each other can an organisation thrive. Do you think Octane deserves the criticism that he is receiving? Let us know in the comments down below.
