Neneh Cherry stunned viewers of The Graham Norton Show last night when they discovered her age.
The 80s music legend, best known for ground-breaking hits like Buffalo Stance and 7 Seconds, joined Hugh Grant, Sebastian Stan, comedian Greg Davies and Little Mix star Perrie Edwards, who performed her new single You Go Your Own Way.
Swedish-born Neneh was promoting her new memoir, A Thousand Threads, telling Graham: ‘I hate nostalgia, and I’m revolted by the concept, but I wanted to reflect on the journey.
‘I have never over analysed my life too much, but I still feel unfinished so felt the need at this point to sit with the story. I also wanted to honour where I came from.’
Neneh shared that she had lived so much already before her breakthrough Buffalo Stance conquered the world in 1988 and everyone took notice after her performance on Top of The Pops that year.
‘It definitely changed my life, but at the time I just got on with it,’ she said. ‘I was seen by the world then, but I’d had a whole other life before that.

‘I am thankful I had that when all the crazy stuff started happening.’
But viewers were taken aback to discover she’s 60-years-old.
Rachel Kennedy wrote on X: ‘There is no way Neneh Cherry is 60, someone check her ID or send me the number of her dermatologist because she looks 20.’
‘I’ll have one of whatever Neneh Cherry is having – she looks amazing,’ agreed X user Krumball COYH.
Glesga_keelie simply added: ‘Blimey Neneh Cherry’
Also on the show, Hugh shed some light on the upcoming fourth Bridget Jones film where he’ll be returning as womaniser Daniel Cleaver, warning that unlike the other filmed this one is actually ‘very sad’.
The Graham Norton Show is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
