Eamonn Holmes is said to have ‘no regrets’ about voicing his issues with Phillip Schofield and ITV.

The GB News presenter, 64, has made his feelings about Schofield and his former employer heard loud and clear in recent months.

After Schofield’s return to TV on Channel 5’s Cast Away, Holmes claimed he’s ‘proud’ to have ‘thrown him under the bus’, and even compared him to disgraced broadcaster Huw Edwards.

It was also previously reported that Holmes’ estranged wife Ruth Langsford, who is a Loose Women panellist, had been left ‘torn’ between offers on ITV and not wanting to upset him.

It’s now said that Holmes has ‘no regrets’ over comments about Schofield, 62, but burning bridges with ITV may have caused issues in his marriage.

The former couple announced their split in May this year after 14 years of marriage, with reports stating work commitments had resulted in them drifting in ‘different directions’.

They’ve since said very little about the split, though Holmes has been pictured on a romantic holiday with his new 42-year-old girlfriend, while there were reports Ruth had hired a ‘fierce’ divorce lawyer.

Now a source has said: ‘Eamonn’s dislike for Phillip existed for a long time, but it became very public at the end of his marriage to Ruth.’

They went on: ‘Ruth became a bit dismayed at Eamonn for making repeated digs at ITV after they were axed from This Morning.

‘Ruth wasn’t over the moon about it. But given she was still a cemented member of the Loose Women family, it made things somewhat awkward for her to have Eamonn criticising ITV.’

The insider added to MailOnline: ‘But Eamonn loathes Phillip and has no regrets about what he said and certainly doesn’t think he threw him under the bus.

‘He doesn’t regret any of his behaviour; he believes he’s addicted to fame, and he can’t believe he’s attempted to relaunch himself with his documentary this week.

‘Eamonn is trying to move on with his life, and has no plans to ever make it up with Philip.’

However, another insider told the publication that it would be wrong to suggest comments about Schofield or ITV had anything to do with his marriage breaking down.

Ruth and Holmes were guest presenters on This Morning before being replaced by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond in 2020.

Last year, it was claimed Ruth was ‘torn’ between an offer of a This Morning return and not wanting to upset her then-husband, after it was rumoured she’d been offered the chance to return when Schofield quit and admitted his ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a much younger employee.

When Schofield’s scandal broke in May 2023, Holmes had already made several furious comments about the This Morning host.

He branded Schofield a ‘narcissist’, claimed he would have ‘playtime’ with the younger employee and alleged Holly Willoughby, 43, and Schofield ‘didn’t know people’s names behind the scenes of This Morning.

He also said he was ‘ashamed’ of how he supported Schofield when he came out as gay, saying he felt ‘used’ and described his coming out episode a ‘performance’.

‘They would cross the road to avoid having to even look at each other,’ a source earlier claimed, calling their feud: ‘the b*******t, most vicious fallout in television.’

The insider added to MailOnline: ‘They hate one another. Eamonn cannot stand Phil, and while he never used to talk about it, now he just doesn’t care. He thinks Phil is a disgrace and a liar.

‘Phil keeps quiet about it all but the feeling is mutual.’
