Who remembers the iconic egg song?

Big Brother finalist Glyn Wise has swapped reality TV for religion and is joining the church as Father Glyn.

He won over viewers’ hearts after entering the house dressed as a topless lifeguard and went on to provide many entertaining moments.

Perhaps most memorably he learned how to boil an egg for the first time, and managed to make it into a song.

His likeability led to the then-18-year-old finishing in second place, losing out to Pete Bennett who was crowned winner of the seventh series in 2006.

Now, at the age of 36, Glyn is pursuing an entirely different career.

While reality stars often go down the route of social media influencing, and perhaps occasionally popping up on Good Morning Britain to debate trending topics, Glyn is on his own journey. Instead of returning to swimming pools, or continuing to profit off his fame, he’s turned to religion.

Announcing his new life, Glyn took to X in 2022 and said: ‘Done it!’ referencing being accepted for the Ordained Ministry with the Church in Wales.

‘Thank you to everyone at London @churchofengland for their support & prayers! Looking forward to spread the good word & becoming Fr Glyn,’ he continued.

After becoming a ‘z-list celebrity’ (his words, not ours of course!) he qualified as a teacher, before finding his calling. He then began a three-year course in 2022 to become a trained vicar.

‘I’m learning theology, going into depth about the Bible and learning how to cope with people because you’re not only the vicar, you’re someone to listen, you’re a psychiatrist, you have to help sort people’s lives out and spread the good word,’ he told The Sun.

Glyn will have to wait for a bishop to ordain him to become a priest. He says that he’ll have to be on his best behaviour to get that honour: ‘They can say no whenever they want. I have to be well-behaved.’

Rather than forgetting about his Big Brother past, Glyn has found a way to weave the two worlds together. He’s even claimed he was able to pray his way into the house.

While giving sermons at his Wrexham church, which is sometimes attended by Hollywood star and Wrexham AFC co-owner Ryan Reynolds, he’ll mention the reality show.

‘People come to church and are like, “I really loved you when you cooked that egg”. And I’m like, “Can we talk about Jesus Christ now, the Saviour?”

‘But I feel like when you’ve lived a good life, you’ve got a lot to talk about when you’re up in the pulpit doing a sermon.’

Glyn has also kept his connection to the past alive by spending time with his former housemates.

Last month, Glyn and Pete, 42, posted a sweet video dancing to Banana Boat (Day-O), and fans reacted positively to the hit of nostalgia.
