The 1990s is best known for the birth of the internet, some of the most iconic fashion trends, and of course, video rental stores.

But the era also gave us some of the biggest and best moments in film and TV, from blockbuster releases to comedy series that had us glued to our seats each week.

It’s been more than 30 years since the nineties began (yes, really, we’re sorry to tell you) so you may have forgotten some of the actors you were obsessed with back in the day.

Here, we have rounded up 10 stars from the 1990s that have changed so much you may not recognise them – but their performances were a huge part of the decade.

1.

Home Improvement fans are sure to recognise this Hollywood star after he appeared in the hit comedy series from 1991 to 1999.

After Home Improvement ended, the actor took over hosting the game show Family Feud, and also appeared on Bingo America and comedy series Last Man Standing.

With Christmas coming up, this actress is sure to grace many screens across the world.

She appeared in Home Alone as a child, and in recent years had made a career shift into modelling after landing roles in Cool as Ice, Tick Tock, and 7th Secret.

Neighbours fans will know this star played Billy Kennedy on the Australian soap from 1994 to 2000, making a one-off return in 2005.

He has since appeared in Chicago Fire until his exit in 2020 as well as House, Uptown Girl, and Swimming Upstream.

This actor appeared in one of the most beloved sitcoms of the 90s as well as smash hit roles in Curb Your Enthusiasm, Young Sheldon, and Duckman.

The show fans are most likely to recognise him from is Seinfeld after he starred in the beloved comedy series from 1989 to 1988.

If you were a Xena: Warrior Princess fan, you will have a leg-up when it comes to recognising this actress.

But she rose to fame even before the Hercules spin-off, appearing in Disney Channel’s The Mickey Mouse Club and the Teen Angel TV series.

This actor’s Heartbreak High character met a tragic end on the show – but thankfully, his career didn’t.

He most recently appeared in the comedy series Strife and is best known for his role in Head On, Ghost Ship, and Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo.

Here’s one for the Emmerdale fans, who will know this actor best as Luke McAllister.

She’s appeared in Downton Abbey, Coronation Street, Brookside and Waking The Dead, to name but a few roles, and she’s set to appear in the new horror-comedy series Generation Z.

A star of a hit 00s TV drama looks completely unrecognisable just seven years after the hit series ended.

Most eagle-eyed TV fans will recognise this star from Prison Break with Wentworth Miller, but he has also appeared in Home and Away, Heartbreak High and House.

And last, but by no means least, we have a star known for his role as Caledon Hockley in 1997 classic Titanic, alongside Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Since then, he has gone on to steal the show in Zoolander 2, Guilt, Curfew, The Deep End and Charmed.
