Raye would go above and beyond for Bond theme but has one major worry-Stella Akinwumi-Entertainment – Metro

Artists including Sam Smith, Madonna, and Tina Turner have lent their vocals to the James Bond franchise – and fans are adamant Raye should be next.

Speculation is currently rife about who will step into Daniel Craig’s well-worn shoes to play the next suave spy with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Damson Idris, and Theo James listed as frontrunners.

And while the actor leading the 007 franchise is unknown, fans are  absolutely convinced that Escapism hitmaker Raye – real name Rachel Agatha Keen – is the perfect choice to step into the recording booth.

However, although the 26-year-old from Croydon, who made history at this year’s Brit Awards, is up for the challenge, she expressed the one thing she’d have to do before accepting.

‘If they called me, you can believe I would be there in a heartbeat,’ she told Metro.

‘I would pitch as many songs as it took to get the right one that they like. That would be an absolute dream come true.’

Addressing her only concern, she continued: ‘The thing I’m worried about is that they take the biggest, huge, huge stars.

‘I fear I’d have to do a bit of work first. The line-up is literally like Adele, Billie Eilish…. You know what I mean, but by any miracle they were interested I would freak out, I would lose my mind I think.’

So would we, Raye!

The Prada performer, known for her impeccable voice and soulful songwriting, has had quite the year so far after winning six of the seven Brit Awards she was nominated for – beating Blur, Adele and Harry Styles’ record four wins at a single ceremony.

Already having some fabulous strings to her bow, Raye isn’t against the idea of following in the footsteps of another music icon, Lady Gaga.

Would she ever ‘do a Gaga’ and go into acting in films or musicals herself, as the Poker Face star has done with the likes of Joker: Folie a Deux and A Star Is Born?

‘If the right thing comes along I would love to give a go a thing where acting and music crosses over,’ Raye admitted.

‘I would love that. I’ve also been doing some scoring bits, I’m really excited to try my go at music film scoring, composing, and even acting.

‘If something did come along I’d really try to work really hard and do a good job, I wouldn’t want to do it and be like ‘ooh she’s terrible, you know what I mean.’

So definitely expect plenty more huge things from this south London girl before long.

Until then, the singer is also keeping herself busy as the face of Nintendo in their latest campaign.

Raye, who is a self-proclaimed avid gamer, hailed the collaboration a ‘dream come true’ and shared what it meant for her to be joined by her sisters Abby, Lauren and Katelyn.

‘It’s such a beautiful thing, family is everything to me,’ she told us.

‘My sisters are my best friends. I think it’s the first thing we’ve done together like this, but it was really lovely.’

When asked who she would challenge to go head to head in a video game battle, Raye called out Ladbroke Grove rapper, 30.

‘The only other person I know that is a serious Mario Kart player and talking a really good game is AJ Tracey.

‘He was talking a huge game, we crossed paths in Berlin and he said “I’m gonna end you,’ he made me bet that if I lost that I would have to post on my Instagram Story that West London is the best and I was like I’m not doing that.’
