One of the stars of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2024 has reportedly suffered a blow just a year after they were forced to back out of the show.

This month, the ITV series is back for a new season, bringing a star-studded line-up of campmates to the jungle in Australia.

The cast includes the likes of Coleen Rooney, Maura Higgins, Danny Jones and Coronation Street star Alan Halsall, who was originally claimed to have been cast on the programme in 2023.

However, in November last year it was reported that Alan, 42, had suffered a knee injury that meant he would no longer be able to be a part of the reality show.

At the time, the actor wrote in an Instagram post alongside a picture of himself lying in bed: ‘Well, On Friday I underwent ACL reconstruction surgery. I have been told the surgery went really well 🙏

‘I know I have a long 9-12 months of rehabilitation ahead of me but I’m sure with the support of family & friends I’ll get there. 👊.’

While it was claimed that Alan had recovered enough to take part in I’m A Celebrity instead this year, it’s now been reported that his knee is causing him issues once again.

A source told The Sun: ‘Alan was meant to be taking part in a padel competition but pulled out at the last minute because his knee was playing up.

‘It’s fine now but he just has to be really careful. He might not be able to take part in some of the trials, bosses are currently working out if he will be ruled out of any.

‘It’s a huge blow for Alan because he was looking forward to throwing himself into it and now has to be a bit wary.’

More to follow.
