Is a Fight Between Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones on the Cards?

Jon Jones was all set to face Francis Ngannou in his UFC heavyweight debut. However, the fight had to be canceled as Jones and the UFC could not come to an agreement regarding his compensation. Since then there has been much speculation as to who ‘Bones’ will face next.

While there has been no confirmation as to whom Jones will be facing. Many people want to see Jones fight Israel Adesanya. There had been much talk about the two fighters competing as they both have at one point expressed their desire to face the other.

After Adesanya lost to Blachowicz at UFC 259, Jones took to Instagram and wrote, “I’m imagining that “super fight” is off the table, no more distractions.” Jones had also taken to Twitter and taken various digs at Adesanya during the fight.

Adesanya responded to the same while talking to Ariel Helwani. He said, “That shows his character, find a tweet of me tweeting and kicking him when everyone is sh*tting on him.

“He barely beat Thiago Santos. Dominick Reyes, I believe, kicked his ass. It shows the character of who we are. It shows the character of what kind of people we are.

“And I know you all are going to use this as clickbait for a title to get some clicks. It just shows the character. Time will tell. There’s going to be a time. This just shows me his true character. This is how you want to play it? Cool. Time will tell, that’s all I’ll say.”

The animosity that is there between the two fighters is clearly visible. And even though the fighters haven’t faced each other yet, it seems like they will compete in the future.

Is the beef between Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya Over?

After Adesanya’s appearance in the Ariel Helwani show, Jones took to Twitter to respond to the various comments made by Adesanya.

He wrote, “Ariel Helwani asked him one question about me, Izzy went on to give a seven-minute response. I love it when opponents realize they can’t hold my jockstrap and default to the “Jon Jones is fake” defense.”

While in another tweet, Jones wrote about how the beef was over, as far as he was concerned. “The fact that he is actually trying to keep this beef going is hilarious,” he wrote.

Controversies have surrounded Jones throughout his career, but there is no denying that he is one of the greatest MMA fighters ever.

However, a fight between them at this point seems unlikely and fans would have to wait and see if these two exceptional fighters ever butt heads.
