WWE and WCW legend Diamond Dallas Page has still has ‘a couple of Diamond Cutters’ left in him.
The 68-year-old Hall of Famer, who is leading the the new WWE 2K24 WCW Pack also featuring Mr Perfect, Great Muta and Lex Luger, insisted various projects from DDP Yoga to plans for his own retreats are keeping him busy but he won’t rule out more appearances down the line.
Asked about the possibility of one more match, he exclusively to Metro.co.uk, he said: ‘My life is so full I don’t have time for any of that. I’m five months from 69 years young.
‘My body – I’m still a Ferrari. I just got nine or 98,000 miles on me [laughs]. So you know, are there a couple of diamond cutters in me? Yeah – and if they ever need it, I’m there. But as far as match, I’m good.’
Even speaking about the possibility of doing more with WWE is a far cry from how things felt when DDP first joined after WCW was bought out.
‘I never did feel part of the team, because I was WCW and came in, and it was a whole different feel,’ he recalled, before things shifted with documentaries retelling the history of the promotion.

‘Going in the Hall of Fame was huge, and it broke down a lot of those walls and barriers, and I still didn’t feel like I was family until these last couple of pay-per-views,’ he admitted. ‘And I think Triple H has everything to do with that. He wants the legends to be recognised for paving the way.’
That Hall of Fame induction in 2017 could never have happened if DDP’s life had taken so many different turns, from starting wrestling in his 30s to the launch of DDP Yoga, and the work he did helping the likes of Scott Hall and Jack ‘The Snake’ Roberts.
But that may never have happened if WWE had capitalised on his star power when he was first brought in, rather than the way he was actually portrayed.
‘I wanted to do People’s Champion versus People’s Champion. That would have been insane money,’ he said of a potential storyline with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

He even tried to push the idea the very first time he met The Rock with The Big Show, when they ‘hit it off big time’ before the future Hollywood megastar gave a hint of what could’ve been.
‘I was almost at the door, I heard The Rock, and he said, “Hey Diamond.” Now he’s been Dwayne Johnson the whole time I’m talking to him, all of a sudden, here comes The Rock,’ he recalled.
‘He said, “You know Diamond, there’s only one People’s Champion”. And Big Show was like, “Ohhh”, and I just dead panned him. And then I finally said, “You know, Rock, you’re right, and you my friend, you’re looking at him.
‘I took off, the eyebrow came up … That’s one of the the main matches I wish I could have had. But to be perfectly honest, if I get that match, my whole life goes in a different direction.’

Even the feel of the new WCW DLC pack could have been different, as DDP is currently working with Lex Luger, 66, who is wheelchair bound as a result of spinal issues going back decades.
‘Lex and I work every week now, filming everything, because it’s the little gains. It’s every little gain that we get with him is so huge,’ he explained, noting that he’s using everything from DDP Yoga to physical therapy to help the retired star.
‘I’m using all of that with Lex to help him to get to get to stand up again, to maybe get to, at some point, walk with a walker,’ he said.
‘Now Lex is back in the game and has an action figure – it chokes me up, because he should have been a Hall of Famer a decade ago or more. But there’s a chance that maybe with them starting to do things with him, he’ll be recognised for his amazing achievement in professional wrestling.’
He is delighted to feature in a game with Cody Rhodes on the cover (Picture: 2K)
There is a sense of personal pride too for DDP, as he finds himself back in a game with Cody Rhodes on the front.
‘I could’t be happier for the cover boy who I’ve been mentoring since he was 12 years old,’ pointing to his own history with the American Nightmare and his late dad Dusty Rhodes.
It goes back to Triple H too, with DDP revealing a text exchange they had after he was backstage at last month’s Bad Blood premium live event.
‘I literally text Triple H, “Thank you for today, blah, blah, blah”. And he said, “Hey, man, you are part of the family, and you’re a big part of it, and we’re real proud to have you on”.
‘So now, getting back into the game as well is a really big deal.’
Diamond Dallas Page, Mr. Perfect, Great Muta, and Lex Luger revive the Monday Night Wars in WWE 2K24 WCW Pack. Fifth and final DLC pack also features new moves and MyFACTION content, plus WCW Fall Brawl WarGames Arena.
