A Strictly Come Dancing couple’s future on the BBC show could be cut short after they were handed a ‘major blow.’
Fears have been sparked that Miranda actor Sarah Hadland, 53, and Vito Coppola, 32, could land in the dreaded dance-off this weekend due to a new ‘curse.’
It has been suggested by ex-Strictly star Fleur East, 37, that couples who are assigned the Rumba are dealt a poor hand, a conclusion she drew when she found herself in the bottom two after performing the dance in 2022.
On Tuesday’s It Takes Two, she told Sarah and Vito after they unveiled their routine for Saturday: ‘I’m starting to see some parallels here because Vito, you and I did our Couple’s Choice in Blackpool.
‘The following week, we did a Rumba – and then we ended up in the bottom two. So how much are you hoping history doesn’t repeat itself?’
Fortunately, Fleur’s asssessment did not spook Sarah not Vito, who burst out laughing, with the actor jokingly scolding the singer: ‘Let’s start the week positively. Let’s be positive.

Vito added: ‘If we do get into the bottom two, it will be part of the story and it will mean we get to dance the Rumba twice.’
Remaining optimistic, Sarah also said: ‘But you made it all the way to the final. So if I follow your trajectory, there’s hope.’
However, the Rumba is not the only ‘curse’ that can befall Strictly couples.
Views have claimed that Saturday night’s running order can have a detrimental impact on one twosome.

A whopping 75% of the duos who have taken to the Ballroom first have found themselves in the dreaded dance-off this year.
They include Tom Dean and Nadiya Bychkova, who opened the show with a Cha Cha to Boogie Wonderland by Earth, Wind and Fire, in week two.
In a shocking turn of events, they were left fighting for their place in the competition during the Sunday results show, despite being nowhere near the bottom of the leaderboard.
After Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones were saved by the judges, Tom and Nadiya were the first people to leave Strictly.

In week four, Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu were first on the dance floor with a Cha Cha to Ain’t No Love by Sub Sub. They were comfortably in the middle of the rankings. However, they found themselves in the bottom two alongside Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk. They were rescued by Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke.
In the following episode, JB Gill and Amy Dowden were up top, and the ‘curse’ struck again. Their jive to Outkast’s Hey Ya got them a respectable 30 and they were in eighth position out of 12 couples, but that couldn’t save them. They faced Paul Merson and Karen Hauer, who were the last people to wave goodbye to Strictly.
On Sunday, Wynne Evans became the eighth celebrity to be booted off Strictly along with his partner Katya Jones. Remaining stars include Tasha Ghouri and Chris McCausland.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 7.05pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
