Thriller series labelled a ‘masterpiece’ reveals major season 2 news-Pierra Willix-Entertainment – Metro

A British mystery thriller series that was praised as ‘riveting’ by its many fans will be returning for a second season.

Based on the 2019 novel of the same name by Holly Jackson, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder was released on BBC earlier this year and rolled out on Netflix around the world soon after.

The six-episode series starred Wednesday’s Emma Myers as Pip Fitz-Amobi, a teenager who remains unconvinced the murder of local schoolgirl Andie Bell (India Lillie Davies) give years earlier was properly investigated by police and decides to take matters into her own hands.

Her own investigation comes after a court ruled the murdered girls’ boyfriend Sal Singh (Rahul Pattni) murdered her before killing himself however Pippa believes he was innocent and wants to prove that before the real killer strikes again.

When the show was released, it was called a ‘masterpiece’ and ‘suspenseful’, with many admitting they binged the series.

It’s now been announced the show will be back, with the determined sleuth facing a new mystery to solve.

The lead star will be returning, as well as Zain Iqbal as Ravi Singh, with the next season picking up in the aftermath of the pair figuring out what happened to Andie.

It will be based on Good Girl, Bad Blood, the second book in the bestselling young adult mystery book series and adapted and written by Holly Jackson and Poppy Cogan.

‘I am beyond thrilled that we can continue Pip’s story and, this time, I’m writing on the show!’ Holly said.

Meanwhile Poppy added: ‘I’m delighted to be back in Little Kilton with Pip and friends for season 2 and to have the opportunity to bring another of Holly’s gripping stories to the screen.’

Upon hearing the news, many fans celebrated being able to see the story continue.

‘SO HAPPY MORE EMMA MYERS MORE DETECTIVE QUEEN,’ Chi posted on X.

‘Netflix finally giving a good show a second chance. It’s been ages since I saw such a thing,’ Staira shared.

‘Good Girl, Bad Blood has some of the best twists and turns of the book series, please do it justice I BEG,’ Katelyn added.

The synopsis for the next season has teased that: ‘After she solved the Andie Bell case, Pip’s world has been transformed by her actions, and not always for the better. Pip is determined to fix the fallout — and stay away from any more investigations.

‘But as Max Hastings’ trial approaches, key witness Jamie Reynolds suddenly disappears, and Pip finds herself in a race against time to find him. This new mystery will take Pip to unexpected places as she struggles with the idea of justice, straying even further from the “good girl” she once was.’

Filming for season 2 is expected to begin next year.
