Former Gogglebox stars Stephen Webb and Daniel Lustig have announced the death of a beloved family member.

A hairdresser by trade, Stephen first joined the Channel 4 series in 2013 during its original season, first appearing with Christopher Steed before being joined on his couch with mum Pat Webb.

Then, from 2019 until 2023, he appeared with now ex-husband Daniel however the pair left the show last year after feeling the time was ‘right to move on and explore other opportunities’.

Just over a year since they quit, the pair have revealed one of their three beloved poodles who had featured on the show with them had died.

‘Today we said goodbye to the kindest little girl, our princess RIP,’ Stephen posted on Instagram alongside a photo of their dog and tagging his ex-husband.

Stephen then went on to share a series of photos of their dog, while Daniel did the same too.

‘Today we said good bye to our princess . Such a beauty xxx’ he wrote.

The pair were each met with messages of support from friends and fans, with their former Gogglebox couch critic Lisa Baggs commenting: ‘The hardest goodbye .. sending you both so much love.’

Meanwhile Stephen’s Celebs Go Dating co-star Ella Morgan wrote: ‘I love you. So sorry for your loss. You gave her the best life. Thinking of you guys.’

Other messages from fans came from Gogglebox viewers including Angela, who wrote: ‘So sorry to hear that you have lost your beautiful girl you had so many years of happiness and she always loved to sit between yourself and Daniel when you were on Gogglebox. May she rest in peace.’

After six years of marriage, six months after leaving Gogglebox Stephen and Daniel announced they had separated, sharing that while there would ‘always be a lot of love’ between them, they’d ‘grown apart and made the decision to part ways’.

They went on to share they intended to stay ‘best friends’ and appeared to have done so, sharing photos together on social media since then.

Last month Stephen also revealed they still lived together.

Appearing on the Suddenly Single podcast, Stephen said Daniel was still cooking for him, while he continued to ‘wash his pants’.

‘He’s one of the best things that ever happened to me,’ Stephen said while fighting back tears.

After corming they will  always be in each other’s lives, Stephen admitted he was unsure if he could ‘ever find someone’ like his ex again, sharing Daniel was ‘a hard one to beat’.

Gogglebox airs Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4.
