After 16 days in the jungle and seven trials, Dean McCullough was the second celebrity to be eliminated from the camp.

I’m a Celebrity’s second contestant was evicted tonight after Loose Women’s Jane Moore, 61, was evicted last week.

Presenter Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly announced that the star received the fewest public votes after revealing that Barry McGuigan and Dean McCullough were at risk.

His campmates seemed completely shocked by the news, but Dean himself seemed excited as he said ‘I’m going home!’

He then told Ant and Dec that he wasn’t sad to be leaving and was in fact happy to be leaving the jungle.

The Radio 1 star also commented on his failed trials in which he called ‘I’m a celebrity get me out of here.’

‘I am a strong person, I’ve just never been in that situation before,’ he said.

Dean argued in his exit interview that he did pull his weight in the camp and said that because he was constantly in trials, he was less able to keep up with chores.

He argued that Melvin Odoom did not bring up any gripes about their shared chores and that he was excused from a lot of the work because he was constantly taking on trials.

Viewers were left unimpressed by Dean after he fell out with fellow contestant Alan Halsall, with many suggesting that he overreacted to being woken up by Alan.

He also lost popularity with viewers after he was nicknamed ‘Houdini’ by the campmates as he always disappeared when there was work to be done.

Ant also admitted he was ‘harsh’ on Dean at the beginning but then was ‘really proud’ of the star at the end of the series.

‘I’ve learned that life is better when it’s simpler,’ Dean said as he reflected on spending no time on his phone or chasing the next event.

He admitted that he’d like to see GK Barry win the whole competition, as the next contestant is set to leave the jungle tomorrow.

When Jane Moore left the jungle she had a simple six-word response to the news.

‘Hard work does not get rewarded,’ she said while hugging her fellow celebrities goodbye.

Since leaving the show the journalist has also admitted that she’s lost an incredible amount of weight as she revealed her clothes are now hanging off her.

I’m a Celebrity continues on ITV1 tomorrow at 9pm.
