Gregg Wallace’s wife Anna has been pictured looking glum amid an investigation into claims of misconduct.

The MasterChef judge, 60, has had to step down from the BBC programme after several allegations made against him.

He faces allegations from 13 people across a range of shows over a 17-year period, with many others sharing their experiences in recent days.

It’s been reported that Wallace made ‘inappropriate sexual jokes’ and lewd comments, that he undressed in front of and stood ‘too close’ to women working on his shows, and that he ‘mimicked sex acts’ and walked around the studio almost ‘completely naked’.

Wallace and his lawyers have denied the allegations, saying ‘it is entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature’.

He shared a statement on Sunday on Instagram, in which he claimed the accusations came from ‘middle-class women of a certain age’, in a response which sparked further backlash from the likes of Ulrika Jonsson and Kirstie Allsopp.

He later apologised for his comments in a grovelling video, and though his wife has yet to speak out, she’s been pictured in public, looking downcast amid the allegations.

Anne-Marie Sterpini, who is 20 years his junior, was seen at a service station in Kent.

The mum-of-one appeared solemn, wearing a black coat to shield from the cold and black boots.

She regularly features in Wallace’s Instagram posts, as he usually shares updates on his health and fitness journey, daily routine, and family life at home.

Wallace, who has two children from previous relationships, was married three times before he met Anna, who he married in 2016.

At the time of their wedding, Wallace was 51 and she was 30.

They met in 2013 over Twitter, when she contacted him for recipe advice, asking whether rhubarb was a good choice to go with duck, with Wallace later saying on the White Wine Question Time podcast: ‘I’m on the television, I can’t walk into bars and stuff.

‘You can’t chat anyone up at work because the HR department would sack you.

‘What I liked about Twitter was that it’s not a dating site.’

Wallace said during an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine that he thinks it was ‘luck’ that he and Anna met and admitted that, at first, he was worried about their big age gap – even thought it never bothered his wife.

‘People look at you anyway and I felt really conscious because she was younger and I didn’t want people to judge her harshly,’ he said.

In his apology video today, Wallace said: ‘I want to apologise for any offence that I caused with my post yesterday and any upset I may have caused to a lot of people. I wasn’t in a good head space when I posted it.

‘I’ve been under a huge amount of stress, a lot of emotion, I felt very alone, under siege when I posted it.

‘It’s obvious to me I need to take some time out now while this investigation is underway.

‘I hope you understand and I do hope that you will accept this apology.’
