I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star GK Barry’s debilitating phobia might put her at risk of winning, it’s been claimed.

The social media sensation and podcast host, 25, is taking on Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly’s grim bushtucker trials in the jungle competition, alongside the likes of Reverand Richard Coles and Coleen Rooney.

On the first day, shortly before arriving at the camp, GK – whose real name is Grace Keeling – delivered one of the most iconic meltdowns of the show, but she’s managed to face her fears and is close to reaching the final.

However, her close friend Joe Baggs has revealed there may be one thing stopped her from being crowned Queen of the Jungle.

Appearing on Thursday’s Lorraine, the former Gogglebox star said: ‘She is emetophobic, that means she’s scared of being sick or of the sound of sick, we’ve all learnt that the hard over the last couple of years with her.’

‘That’s not great for somebody doing an eating trial, because if you’re doing it with somebody else, people do retch and that’s not very good,’ Lorraine replied.

Joe went on: ‘I am worried, I don’t want her to do it, but if it helps her win.’

‘She’s such a strong girl, I think she’d be alright with that, it’d be horrid but she would just do it,’ Lorraine added, with Joe saying that so far Grace has ‘surprised’ him by overcoming other fears during trials.

According to the NHS, emetophobia is a fear or anxiety of oneself vomiting or seeing other people vomit. It can be associated with a fear of losing control, or the feeling of being unable to escape from somewhere.

Ahead of entering the jungle, the TikTok star said she was terrified of ‘everything’, adding: ‘I haven’t slept in a month. I am scared of the trials and I am genuinely scared of everything.

‘The eating trial to me is the worst thing you can do to a human being.’

Grace also previously spoke about her fear of sick on Loose Women, saying: ‘Whether it’s me being unwell or other people being unwell near me,actual vomit, I didn’t realise that was a thing because no one actually likes vomit.’

She went on to say she went to see a professional because she was ‘so scared of flying’ and didn’t know why, and she was told it was linked to the travel sickness she suffered from as a child.

‘It used to make me panic when I would be sick because I didn’t know what to do and now I just associate that panic with sick.

‘I’ve had so many traumatic… someone threw up on me on a bus, I hope he’s doing well in hell, nasty.

‘I would struggle so much with getting on public transport, I would look at someone and if they were fidgeting, I’d be like, “They’re going to vomit”.’

She went on to say she couldn’t use public transport or toilets, and was so scared of being ill.

‘I absolutely would despise being around kids because they were unwell, or just carrying loads of germs.’

She added that she’d tried hypnotherapy for help, but it was actually going to university and being ‘surrounded’ by sick that worked.

‘I had to force myself to be like, yeah, vomit.’

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV1. I’m A Celebrity continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1.
