Iconic 90s horror sequel has fans ‘hooked’ with menacing first look photo-Rishma Dosani-Entertainment – Metro

Horror movie fans have been given the first look at the upcoming sequel of I Know What You Did Last Summer, and there is a lot to be scared about.

It was previously announced that we’d be getting a follow-up to the iconic 90s slasher flick, nearly 30 years after it was first released.

Following a sequel, with an even longer title, it was confirmed that Freddie Prinze Jr would be reprising his role as Ray Bronson for a new sequel.

It is currently not clear whether Jennifer Love Hewitt, who played Julie James in both films, will be following suit.

Sony Pictures has now released a teaser picture of I Know What You Did Last Summer, which will be in cinemas next summer.

In the snap, a mysterious figure could be stood in a creepy, light-filled room – in front of an old-school computer – while clutching onto a hook.

Right on cue, fans flocked to the comments below, analyzing every pixel of the photo for any possible plot details.

Joshuatonks wrote: ‘Peep the old-school computer!! A flashback scene? Or a 90s set movie?! Either way, I’m hooked!!’

Ghostface_Sebastian said: ‘So thrilled about it! Ready to get hooked again!’

If anyone from Sony happens to be reading, that would make an epic tagline…

The 1997 film, starring Jennifer, Freddie, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe, focused on a group of teenagers seemingly killing a man and covering up the murder in sheer panic.

On the year-anniversary of the attack, they found themselves stalked by a chilling hook-wielding serial killer.

In the 1998 offering, Julie and Ray were joined by Karla (Brady), Tyrell (Mekhi Phifer), Will (Matthew Settle) and Titus (Jack Black) as they fought off the fisherman.

The She’s All That legend will be joined by Chase Sui Wonders, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon and Tyriq Withers in the cast.

Jennifer is still said to be in negotiations, while Sarah teased she’ll be spending time on set in a different capacity.

‘I am dead,’ she told People Magazine about a potential comeback as beauty queen Helen, who didn’t manage to survive the first movie.

‘My best friend is directing it, so we joke that I have an unofficial job, which is I am continuity.

‘So I’m always the one telling her, “Well, that would happen, or that wouldn’t happen with those characters,” so I do have kind of an unofficial job title.’

‘Jen’s put together such an amazing cast, and I’m so happy and excited for all of them,’ she added of the sequel. ‘I will be there with moral support behind the camera.’
