Scarlett Moffatt’s dating show won’t be returning to screens, and she’s lifting the lid on the reasons why.

The Gogglebox alum, 34, hosted Love Bites on ITV2 from 2020 to 2021.

It was a hit with viewers, who saw three single cooks prepare a three-course meal for a singleton on the hunt for romance, hoping to wow with their culinary expertise.

However, Love Bites aired for just 30 episodes, with Scarlett, who became a mum to son Jude in June 2023, now explaining why a second run was never green-lit.

‘I get so many people talking about Love Bites; that was a show that we did during Covid,’ she told The Sun.

‘We did around 30 episodes; we just did bulk episodes because it was easy and something that could be filmed during Covid, but obviously, they still needed new shows.

‘It was never meant to be a long thing; it was just meant to be something for Covid, and loads of people are always asking, “When is Love Bites back?”‘

Scarlett added that if she were ever to have her own show, Love Bites is the one she’d want to revive ‘simply because loads of people always say that they love it.’

‘Whenever you flick through, it’s on,’ she said.

‘It’s a good one to have in the background, where you can dip in and out of it.’

Fans of Scarlett needn’t fear, though, because she’s got another TV project in the works.

She confirmed to the publication that she’ll be back on our screens in 2025 with something she’s ‘really excited about’.

Alas, she’s been sworn to secrecy for another eight months.

‘TV-wise, I’ve been so lucky that I’ve been filming something.’

Scarlett, who got engaged to Scott Dobinson last November, is no stranger to the small screen, having been catapulted to fame as a sofa critic alongside her family on Channel 4.

She’s gone on to secure a range of presenting gigs, including on I’m a Celebrity companion show Extra Camp as a co-presenter and Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

The Geordie lass won the 16th series of I’m A Celebrity, triumphing over the likes of Joel Dommett and Emmerdale’s Adam Thomas.

Scarlett also frequently pops up on panel shows and game shows, from Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and Catchphrase to The Chase and Great British Bake Off.

As for her personal life away from the cameras, Scarlett is currently planning her wedding to Scott, whom she has known since the age of 17.

Lifting the lid on their upcoming ceremony, she told The Sun that she plans to have two wedding dresses. However, the couple are very chilled about the whole thing.

‘We have said that we need to plan it after Christmas; we’re so laid back,’ she shared. ‘We’ve been engaged a whole year now.

‘I’ve always said, I’m not doing what my mum and dad did; they were together 26 years before they got married. I can’t do that; I can’t have a long engagement. I think definitely next year we’ll sort it out.’

Scarlett also got mushy about her baby boy, saying Jude has made her a more ‘patient’ person.

‘I love motherhood; I genuinely feel like this is what I was made to do.’
