Film fans, it’s time to get excited as we’re officially getting a sequel to an iconic 00s comedy, with the star-studded cast returning.
Meet the Parents was first released in October, 2000, and followed Ben Stiller’s Gaylord ‘Greg’ Focker as he met the family of his girlfriend, Pam Byrnes (Teri Polo) for the very first time.
His attempts to impress Jack and Dina Byrnes, played by Robert De Niro and Blythe Danner respectively, didn’t quite go as planned, leading to lie detectors, lost cats and an awkward appearance from Pam’s ex, Kevin (Owen Wilson).
Following two sequels, 2004’s Meet the Fockers and Little Fockers in 2010, it looks like we’re diving head first into the triangle of trust once again.
According to People Magazine, Ben, Robert, Blythe and Teri are in talks to reprise their roles for another follow-up, with John Hamburg writing the script.
Robert and Ben will reportedly serve as producers – but an official title, release date and plot have yet to be confirmed.

Teri appeared to confirm her involvement in the upcoming flick as she shared a screenshot of a Deadline article on her Instagram page, with a thinking emoji.
The first movie in the comedy franchise was released 24 years ago, introducing fans to Pam’s family as Greg tried desperately to impress them, leading to truly hilarious scenes.
The original was a huge hit and became the seventh highest-grossing film in 2000 after raking in more than $330million at the global box office,
The 2004 sequel focused on the Byrnes family meeting the Greg’s loved ones for the first time, with Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand joining in the chaos as the head of the Focker crew.

They reunited six years later for Little Fockers, centering around Pam and Greg as they raise two little sons.
Unsurprisingly, the sequels were also huge successes in their own right, with the entire franchise grossing more than $1.13 billion in total.
Not too shabby.

Ben recently shed light on how the first film ever saw the light of day, revealing film bosses went above and beyond to keep the unique surname of his character intact.
During an appearance on Hot Ones last week, host Sean Evans questioned: ‘Is it true that the Motion Picture Association would not allow for the name Focker unless the filmmakers could prove that there was actually someone with that surname?’
‘Oh, I think that is true, yes,’ he replied. ‘Because it was PG-13, I think. And they thought it was too close to f**ker.
‘I don’t understand how it works legally, honestly, but something like that did happen.’
