A YouTuber has shown off a 3D-printed Nintendo Switch 2 from an accessory manufacturer, and it looks like only a modest upgrade over the original.

Nintendo’s next console is set to be unveiled at some point before April next year, but a recent wave of leaks seem to give a clear idea of what the machine looks like.

Over the past month, we’ve seen alleged video footage of the console’s seemingly magnetic Joy-Con controllers, along with various images showing off Switch 2 accessories, which seem to indicate its size.

A YouTuber has now apparently been sent one of these case accessories for Nintendo’s next console, alongside a 3D printed version of the console’s shell.

As posted by SwitchUp, the YouTube channel states they were sent a Switch 2 mock-up from Chinese case manufacturer iVoler, who ‘claims to have the final Switch 2 design templates and the case they have made for it’.

According to the channel, iVoler doesn’t have the console itself but the ‘specs’ and ‘some other information’, which has enabled them to 3D print the device in order to make cases for it.

As such, the main takeaway from the video are the dimensions compared to the original Switch.

How big could the Nintendo Switch 2 be?

While there aren’t any specific measurements, by using the OLED model as a comparison, it shows the Switch 2 to have a slightly bigger screen, which matches up with prior leaks.

The Joy-Cons are slightly larger too and have a softer curve around the edges, with the right controller having an extra button – again, in line with previous leaks.

Later in the video, they compare the mock-up’s size to Valve’s Steam Deck, and Nintendo’s console appears to have a bigger screen despite being smaller overall. Previous reports suggested the Switch 2 would have an 8 inch LCD screen, which might be true considering the Steam Deck’s screen is 7.4 inches.

While the mock-up does feature some adjusted ports, including an additional USB-C port, it’s best not to take these details as certain, considering the manufacturer hasn’t actually seen the console itself.

Nintendo hasn’t announced anything about the Switch 2 (even its name is just a fan moniker) aside from it being backwards compatible. While it’s set to be revealed before April 2025, it’s unclear when it will actually come out, although the most recent rumours suggest it could land in June.
